Hempstead Park Nursing Home

If there was a way to rate this place negative five, I would. The conditions were horrible. The smell of feces and urine permeated from the first floor to the third floor. The staff did not seem to be concerned with whether or not residents were clean or comfortable, they were far more interested in what they were ordering for dinner. There was one functioning elevator, not a picture to be found on a wall, four people in one bathroom, no privacy, her clothes either didn't fit or were in terrible condition, the furniture wouldn't even be considered worthy of a thrift shop or salvation army, and I just can't even imagine that this is the only option families have. It's a crime to treat the sick and elderly this way.

Easy to find, easy visitor parking. Receptionist/guard at front entry door friendly. Sign in with facial recognition and taking temperature very easy. Residents were friendly; floors were clean and smelled good without smelling of disinfectant. Overall, a very pleasant nursing home. Staffer/nurse Daniel was very personal and pleasant.

No stars given at all this place is unfit to be in business for healthcare. My Brother was placed there by St Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson it was a mistake he was told this was the only place accepting his insurance. There is trash in the hallway when you walk through the doors. The place smells saturated in urine. The furniture is so old broken and out dated. The bathrooms are ice cold This place looks worst than a homeless shelter horrible, horrible the worst Nursing home rehab I’ve ever seen Please do not allow anyone to put your love ones here. It needs to be shut down. I’m getting my Brother out of there ASAP even if I have to take him home.

The place was clean. My guest appeared happy and was out of the bed in the dining/ TV room. The staff was pleasant and helpful showing me where her room was. The other patients seemed cared for. Many staff members were around caring for their patients and observing the activities in the dining/ TV area

This place is dirty, the staff is unprofessional standing in groups and socializing instead of taking care of patients. Only one elevator worked you wait about 10 mins just to get on. The worse part is that the administrator is a racist prick who talks to people with no respect, he’s also very Judgmental and dismissive. It’s unfortunate my family placed a love one in this horrible Facility. Would not recommend
