Hemlock Bluffs Animal Hospital

Hemlock Bluffs is by far the best vet that I have been to - they go above and beyond for both of our pups (I have a very overly friendly golden retriever and a not so friendly German shepherd). ALL of the vets, vet techs, and office staff have been amazing during the time that we have been going to them. My shepherd is the best boy with people he knows, but is not so friendly with people that he does not know well, and we always let the vet staff know ahead of time, muzzle him, and bring high reward treats to make the visit as easy as possible. They have been willing to work with us and get us into a room from the side door to ensure he is less stressed and doesn’t have to see as many people or dogs in the main area. I cannot recommend this clinic enough! From the moment we walked in, the entire team—from the receptionist to the doctor and the vet techs—was incredibly friendly and welcoming. What I appreciated most was that they were not pushy at all; they gave us advice that was right to the point and clearly had my dog Charlie’s best interest at heart. Hemlock Bluff was nothing short of amazing with my two Shepherds. As shepherds have a tendency to be…rambunctious, the front office staff put us in a room as soon as we got there for each visit. My first experience with HB, I was worried when my girl started limping severely and Hemlock Bluff was able to fit me in the next day. We saw Dr. Harper, and historically my girl hasn’t done well with men besides my brother and I. Well she did excellent with Dr. Harper! Dr. Harper didn’t push imaging tests and prescribed a reasonable treatment plan, which I greatly appreciated. I was so impressed with Dr. Harper, the vet techs, and the front desk, I immediately moved up my boy’s appointment to get his exam and vaccines taken care of as well. Most caring & thorough veterinary care in NC! I brought in 2 sick kittens for a last minute appointment that they were kind enough to offer at the end of their day. Dr Harper saw my babies. He put the 5 week old on the table & had an old fashioned face to face talk with him as he examined him. It was great! The other kitten was much sicker, and Dr Harper spent a great deal of time to provide all necessary exams & treatments for both of them. They both responded quickly to meds he prescribed, & are recovering thanks to the care & concern of the wonderful staff. It’s very comforting to know that he & Dr Schneider are available in this area to provide the best possible veterinary services to our pets!!

Initial contact for new patient appointment was quick and welcoming. Communication was clear and rapid responses. Dr. Parker and staff were friendly and asked appropriate questions about my pet, CLAIRE, and the reason for my visit. Helpful suggestions and gentle care were given. Cost was within expected range. Follow up call day after was good patient service. Great first impression!
