Hawthorne Healthcare and Wellness Centre

I have two young daughters at Hawthorne Healthcare. They have a neurodegenerative disease and have been at Hawthorne for 2 years. This place has been so wonderful for my girls! I have so many great things to say about the staff and the care ! I have a huge shout out to my daughter’s main nurse, Fortune. She goes above and beyond in taking good care of my daughters!! I can tell my daughters really like her because, although they have lost their ability to speak from the disease, Fortune does her best at listening to them by watching their behavior. Not many care workers have her kind of patience, love and compassion to allow the patients to feel heard and seen. One of my daughters is very independent and can be stubborn but Fortune’s love for her job and for people, makes her an outstandin

I’m not sure who manages this facility because every time I go or call for information I get the run around. The staff are always hiding .. the management is never there. There is no support the front desk ladies come and go they dont answer the phone I’ve never seen the administration staff. And the last time I was there some lady with red hair was yelling at staff coming into work turns out she is in the payroll department. I cannot wait and emphasize enough how quickly I moved my father out of there.

I enjoyed being at the center to visit and minister to the patients. Also, l very much appreciated the warm and friendly atmosphere there. The staff was kind and helpful Furthermore, the Activity Director was wonderful. Thanks for the great experience.

Ignored my Mother when she was there. She told them she was having trouble breathing. They didn’t believe her. She called me at 2am crying hysterically (I still have the voicemail)to inform me. Luckily I was working 3rd shift at the time and called this place to have them check on my mom. I was on my cell with my mom and my work phone with this place. Once I hung up with them I heard the nurse come into my mom’s room and scold her for calling me. A few hours later my mom was sent to the ER and we were never informed. We only found out when the hospital called to let us know our mom had pneumonia and had to be placed on a vent because her oxygen levels were low. They never returned my mother’s belongings either. This place was terrible when she was there. It was always hot too.
