I generally have a good experience here, however, recently I was told I would have to pay $1,400 for Paxlovid. The pharmacist (in September) told me “that’s just the way it is,” and that there was no way around it. I ended up calling a few pharmacies and UVM pharmacy ended up getting the price down to $34. This experience taught me that how much you pay for medication can be up to the skill, knowledge, and willingness to research that the pharmacist working with you has. Also, I just called in for a medication refill (different medication), and I was told by the person who answered, “We don’t have that on our shelves, you may have to wait it out.” When I inquired further about alternatives, I was told curtly, “We may have that, you’ll have to wait and see. I switched to the Essex Hannaford pharmacy after a series of customer service issues with my previous pharmacy, and I am so happy I chose this pharmacy team. They are always professional, courteous, and prompt. Today the entire team went above and beyond to assist me with an insurance situation for a last-minute refill for my kid before she leaves on a 16-day bike trip. The last-minute was totally our fault and still they could not have been more helpful. They reached out to the insurance company and worked closely with the great staff at Essex Pediatrics and achieved a same-day approval for the refill. They then reached out immediately to notify me that it was ready for pick up. In a time when most businesses are short-staffed and customer service is suffering, this pharmacy remains

I transferred to this pharmacy after using another large chain pharmacy nearby. The reason? friendly staff, faster service and it is very well organized. The other pharmacy is too busy and understaffed., Hannaford pharmacy employees are competent and so nice. It makes a huge difference. thank you

I just want to tell everyone how helpful one of the pharmacist was when I came in with a question. I didn’t understand what he was trying to explain to me about my prescriptions. Finally, after at least five tries, it clicked. Thanks so much for your patience.
