Halper Family Medicine

This review is about Dr. Maureen. I accompanied my daughter to her appointment so this review is based on that. Dr. Maureen seems a bit odd. She's not very professional and needs to work on bedside manner. I would have liked my daughter to have a doctor that showed more and genuine concern for my child. I also did not appreciate the odd looks she was giving us. We were there for medical attention, not to be judged. Although she did address the medical issue my daughter had, I would have preferred someone a bit more professional that showed a bit more interest in a patient's well being.

They are truly not helpful. I had a physical in December of 2025 (3 months ago). I need a form to be completed for work or the last progress note and in order for them to complete it with the information from the recent physical they’re telling me I need to schedule a follow up appt. When I go to this facility they barely exam me. Ryan the medical records person was rude and short and the receptionist was rude and placed me on hold without me being aware in the middle of me talking. I just asked for my records to be transferred elsewhere because this is not how a doctor’s office is supposed to handle their patient.

Super friendly staff and no long wait times!! I’m always right in and out. Dr Marlene has a super warm and friendly demeanor and is very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

I went in for a physical and was charged for a regular appointment including all the blood tests of a physical. They were fully aware of it and still billed me as a regular appointment with all physical blood tests included, ended up paying a hefty bill and insurance said they couldn’t do anything about it if the clinic isn’t billing it as a physical. Staff was rude when I tried to speak to them about it. I would not recommend. Save the money and stress.

I have been using Halper Family Practice for decades. The RVC location n the Valley Stream n the Baldwin location .They are all wonderful. Recently, I have been going to the valley stream location and seeing Doctor Cabot. She is kind and compassionate n knowledgeable n a phenomenal physician. Her staff in this valley stream location are amazing. Mae who greets you at the front desk always with a smile n very professional n hardworking. The office is spotless. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this practice is.
