Halifax Health - Children's Medical Center Port Orange

This facility used to be better, the staff does not answer the phone when you call. It takes a long time for them to return your call, if you have an emergency suitable for a nurse at their doctor to answer you can’t get through. They need to improve their administration staff greatly. Doctors are good, but only for annual exams, otherwise they aren’t really available, which is unacceptable for pediatricians who are dealing with children. It also makes the doctors look bad.

We have been going to this practice for over 13 years, and we have never had a bad experience. The staff is always pleasant, kind and efficient-even while being INCREDIBLY busy. You don’t feel like you’re being rushed out the door. The providers take their time in understating your needs and concerns. We are very grateful for the care they have shown our family.

We switched over from Advent pediatric and the difference is night and day. The doctors take their time explaining things and the staff is always helpful and kind. We can get them in for sick appointments instead of just being told to go to the ER. Dr. Holly is the best and I can’t recommend her enough.

Doctors are AMAZING nurses are AMAZING! Front staff please find another job if you hate dealing with people. This is a business for bringing children and babies ! You can never get anyone to answer phone to make appointments I called 15 times and kept pressing the 1 option to get thru they finally picked and were annoyed. If your child is very sick forget about it take them to urgent care it will be quicker. It’s a shame because the doctors are why we won’t leave but the first people you meet, the first impression of the practice are not great

I initially had reservations about bringing my children to this facility due to some reviews I had read, but I am pleased that I decided to give it a chance. While I agree with some reviews regarding the difficulty in reaching someone and the less-than-warm demeanor of the front office staff, I must say that they are efficient. All the nurses and doctors we have encountered have been truly wonderful! Dr. Kim is our preferred physician, and we are very satisfied with her care. One area for potential improvement is the availability of appointments for sick visits. On two separate occasions, the front office staff informed me that there were no available appointments and suggested taking my children to the emergency room, then hung up before I could respond.
