I'd give the quality of the therapy a solid 10 - the therapists were absolutely superb. The nurses and aides were fabulous - another solid 5. Ditto for the staff. The food I'd give 3-4 -- Not a lot of choice and limited to kosher only. Also, more care needs to be given by foodservice staff to carefully ensuring that residents receive what they ordered and don't receive what they don't want. I can count on one hand the number of times I received exactly what I ordered. Overall my stay at Gurwin was a good one and I left with a positive opinion of the facility.

I want to thank Gurwin for this past year. We placed my Mom here just over a year ago. She has many medical conditions as well as dementia and it’s been so hard to make the decision to place her in a nursing home. However since she’s been living here she’s been doing wonderfully! She hasn’t been sick, no more hospitalizations or falls. Her medical conditions have improved with the incredible care from the nurses on her floor. Especially Berlin and the whole team on 3 south! The are truly so caring, and provide excellent care to my mother and I’m truly thankful. I live out of state and only get to come in a few times a year to visit but the nurses help me talk with her on the phone whenever I want to. My mother loves it here and tells me this often. The Gurwin Jewish Center has been a true blessing for our family. During one of the most difficult times of our lives, Eneida Garcia stood out as an extraordinary caregiver. Her compassion, patience, and genuine kindness brought comfort and calm to my mother during an incredibly vulnerable period. Eneida went above and beyond every day, treating my mom with dignity, warmth, and deep humanity. Her presence made a profound difference not only in my mother’s healing, but in my own ability to navigate this journey as her daughter. I want to thank the staff on 4 west who took care of my mother for three years. She was treated with respect, kindness, compassion and dignity. I was nervous at first but became comfortable when I saw how well she was treated. The staff was consistent and I never once found her soiled or neglected or mistreated in any way. Her social worker Jamie was a pleasure to work with. Hector was one of her nurses who takes exceptional care and treats all his patients with compassion and kindness. I see his interactions are always caring and supportive. Always kept me informed of any changes in her care and updated me when necessary. I wish I knew more names of those who interacted with her. This place was truly a blessing for me. I always left knowing she was in good hands.

The nursing staff and nursing assistants were caring & responsive to the needs of their patients. Likewise the physical & occupational therapists worked very hard to assist their patients achieve the best possible results. I would not hesitate to recommend Gurwin to anyone.
