Grove Dental Associates

My family and I have been going to Grove dental for many many years. We go to the Lombard, Wheaton, and Downers Grove location. Recently I’ve gone to the Downers Grove location and Dr. Aziz, who was originally going to have to do a root canal took some additional pictures and determined that I didn’t need them. It was so refreshing to see that they don’t push services on you if you truly don’t need them, so thank you Dr. Aziz I appreciate the additional time to see if I really needed it or not. I also really enjoy speaking to the dental hygienist Sharon she’s amazing. I really love her fun attitude and she’s so easy to talk to and very caring if you need a place to go definitely look into the Downers Grove office.

My family have been patients of Grove Dental since we moved here in the late 80’s after a recommendation from a neighbor. I love that all of the dental specialists, especially the pediatric dentists, that we have needed have been available and worked closely with each other. Everyone from Reception to Hygenists to Billing and Insurance specialists as well as the Dentists have been professional and respectful of our needs and preferences and have upheld the highest standards of care as they evolved over the decades. I am sad to be leaving them as I am moving to California and have my fingers crossed that I find someone I am as satisfied with there.

The people are very polite and friendly but scheduling isn’t good. I was scheduled for my first appointment - a dental exam and routine cleaning. They called me the same day of the appointment to cancel because there wasn’t a dental hygienist coming in that day. They rescheduled my appointment. I went in for the new appointment where I had x-rays taken, to then find out that the available dentist was leaving the practice in a month and was not willing to see me because he was leaving the practice. Never saw the dentist. I was then told that I need to come back another day for routine cleaning. This could hqve been avoided if they informed me ahead of time and scheduled me on a different day with a dentist that was not leaving.

I have been a patient at Grove Dental in Downers Grove for decades. I have never had an experience with a hygienist like the one I experienced yesterday. The hygienist was very abrupt, and I can handle that. But prior to doing the x-rays, she draped the protective blanket over me that was wet. When I commented that I was getting wet, she explained she had cleaned it, grabbed a couple paper towels, and blotted off the top of the blanket. I told her it was wet underneath as well, and in fact, my clothing was getting wet. She then suggested that she get a different one that was dry. Duh, you think? The actual teeth cleaning was done so deeply it was causing me pain. When she adjusted her method, it had water running out the side of my mouth and down my neck. Finally, when she got to the floss

A great time was had by all. No, it wasn't a party, it was a teeth cleaning. Everyone was friendly, not just to me, but to everyone. The hygienist was out going but not overly so. Grove Dental is the best in Downers Grove.
