Great Expressions Dental Centers - San Pablo

Dental hygienist wanted to do a deep cleaning on my back teeth. This is how they generate money. I said no, just want a regular cleaning. Went back to Dr Hicks and she gave permission but said I’d have to consult with a periodontist before the next cleaning. Hygienist did a fast, scrape, polish and floss lasting 8 minutes. My past cleanings, I go every 6 months, are usually 30 minutes long. Was not happy with this substandard cleaning. Dr Hicks never came in to examine my teeth. My last cleaning with Great Expectations, the dentist, Dr Hicks, never examined my teeth that time either. Very disappointed.

Dr Hicks and her staff are awesome!! I highly recommend anyone to give them a try. Dr. Hicks is very thorough and clearly communicated to me what was going to happen during each visit. Trish is a great hygienist and did a great job getting my teeth cleaned up. Front counter personnel greeted me when I walked in the door and made me feel at home.

Even though I had to wait about 45 minutes after my appointment time everyone was very nice the doctor is very very nice the dental assistant was excellent. And that was the first time I had my teeth cleaned and it wasn't that much pain the dental hygienist was very gentle and very attentive to my pain level and I felt like everybody was concerned about what I was there for.. and the co-pays were reasonable

Came back in and said she would clean my teeth but I’d have to go to a periodontist before my next cleaning. Hygienist did an 8 minute scrape, polish and floss cleaning. Not thorough. My normal cleanings are 30 minutes and I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. Dentist, Dr Hicks, never came in and examined my teeth, nor did she the previous time. Not happy.

This was my first experience visiting this location. From my first contact setting up an appointment to going today the staff was helpful, gave the impression that they cared about me, and completely took care of my dental needs.
