Glenolden Animal Hospital

I love this practice. Our dog, cats, and guinea pigs are all patients here. Everyone is friendly, kind, and clearly loves animals. They are always helpful and answer all my questions, and I've never experienced the kind of judgmentalness that can sometimes occur at vet practices.

Glenolden Animal Hospital is by far the best primary vet care my dogs have ever received! From the front desk, the techs, and the doctors…everyone makes you feel welcome and goes above and beyond to make sure that your pet is cared for and has as much of stress-free visit as possible. They are incredibly accommodating for behaviors like reactivity, dog aggression, and anxiety. Dr. Sprowls is an actual saint, and will forever have my gratitude for her dedication to caring for my dogs. From her “bedside manner” with my dogs and myself, to her amazing surgical skills, to her dedication to finding answers for illnesses and treating them…she is incredible. We love GAH!

On 4/25/25, I brought my Lilly aka Lillybear in for her Cytopoint allergy shot injection to Glenolden Animal Hospital on MacDade Blvd., Glenolden, Delaware County, PA. Lilly is my 16 year old Bichon Frise, and coincidentally, we were there this time on her 16th birthday! Veterinary Technician Scott came to get Lilly, and boy does she love Scott! Scott was his usual kind and down to earth self, asking how she was doing, how I was, if I had any concerns and if Lilly had any issues they should know about. Always staying on top of her care, yet being genuine in seeing how we were in general too. That little bit goes a long way, at least to me. Please be advised that if go to this practice avoid Dr. Sara Sprowls like the plague. Some background... after agonizing the decision to put our dog Angel down, we made an appointment for 11/25/25. Upon arrival, Dr Sprowls insisted on performing an extra $79.00 exam to determine the appropriateness of euthanizing the dog. Keep in mind that the dog was treated at the practice for 17 years. It's not like we needed a professional opinion to make this decision. It was heartbreaking process that took place over a year's time. The Dr., in my opinion, showed no empathy in the situation and made us wait for over an hour while she contemplated our request to remove the exam charge. She did eventually. If you are looking for compassion and good bedside manner, this Dr. will not meet your needs. She

A vet that is scared of dogs. My boy is high anxiety, we muzzle him when we go and he has peed on one of the vets, but today was an emergency. My dog may have a rupture and they said they won't see him cus hes not sedated they claim he has bit someone there which is absolute BS. Upon speaking to other vets, I now realize that it is insane of them to tell you to sedate your animal before even coming in. This place was fully willing to let my dog die. Because I didnt want to sedate him. The receptionist is an absolute nightmare of a Karen and the Dr's aren't much better. I hope they all have the day they deserve.
