Gentle Dental Sunnyvale

Makayla is an amazing orthodontic treatment coordinator and truly exceptional at what she does. She is incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, and handles her responsibilities with professionalism and care. Even while clearly overworked, she managed to assist several patients efficiently and with a positive attitude. During my visit, while another staff member was on the phone verifying a patient’s insurance (which should have been completed prior to the appointment), Her ability to multitask while maintaining such a welcoming and supportive demeanor really stands out. The office is lucky to have someone as dedicated and hardworking as Makayla Wells

Well I gotta tell you, I’m pretty sure I won’t be back, not just to this location but to any Gentle Dentistry. The dental assistant who did my x-rays did a good job and I really liked the dentist. But the dental hygienist only wanted to up sale me. I have receding gums and I’ve been able to stop the bone loss by taking care of my teeth and having a dental hygienist that does a thorough cleaning. When the hygienist at Gentle found out that I have receding gums, she went straight into up sale mode. She told me I needed laser cleaning and had to wear these trays every night to prevent any more bone loss. She didn’t ask any questions or even look at my teeth. Original review I submitted was yesterday (Mar 04, 2026), saw "Owner's Response", thought someone was genuinely interested in feedback, called, went to useless call center, who forwarded to Emiliana, supposedly practice manager and she herself has NO CLUE which number people are supposed to call, which option is supposed to connect us to who.. She didn't know who i could talk to in "Corp" office for feedback. Such a waste of time and FAKE response from "supposed OWNER". Original review - Went there today for 1st time, for getting exam/consultation for my need (partial chipped off one front center upper tooth, no nerve exposure, no pain, no bleeding) because my regular dentist doctor suggested me to go to oral surgeon. Arrived early on time for my appointment. Got seated in the office on time then waited 40 minutes to be seen by the doctor. Got a consult done in 15 minutes. Went to the front desk for estimate insurance etc. Waited another 30 minutes. Asked if they talked to front insurance they say im not. Waited another 20 minutes for them to call back (she never called then in the first place) I call them I have coverage. Lady says she's on hold with them very rudely angry im talking to her coworker not realizing im setting up a cleaning not going around her back. Alot of attitude for nothing really. Terribly unprofessional! Demanding legal documentation at the last minute proving I have the authority to have her dental needs taken care of! Mom has been a patient there for well over a year! No one ever asked for that documentation in the past! I travel two hours to get to her home in Sunnyvale California one way…180 + miles round trip! This was a total wasted trip for me, my mom and her caregiver! Then not wanting to treat the patient! My 93-year-old mother falling asleep waiting! Telling me they referred her to UCSF last fall! We never received authorization from her dental insurance to go to UCSF ! My mother cannot do that drive from her home in Sunnyvale. She needed impressions of her mouth for false teeth!
