Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital

My wife has been calling every week day for over a week now to get STAT testing scheduled for our daughter. We keep being given the runaround. They promise someone will call by the end of the day, and they do not. The one-call staff give false information regarding timing between testing and when/how testing is scheduled. We spoke to a radiology manager yesterday who promised a call back yesterday, which did not happen. When calling back to leave a message for the nuclear med director yesterday, she did not return the call. They consider STAT testing more than two weeks out.

I found this to be an excellent hospital. Very knowledgeable, and caring staff. Not to mention my ER doctor was extremely hot... she has my vote! Hospital stay was nice, relaxing, and easy going. Expect early morning bloodwork, snap testing when ordered, and nurses were timely when I rang for assistance. Nurses were kind and helpful. Food was pretty good, and hot. Be aware, if your on fluid restrictions, the nurses ADHERE to that doctors order! Overall, it was a pleasant experience setting aside my thirsty, dry mouth which the nurses (God. Less them),assisted with sugar free gum, and hard tack candies to help with my dry mouth (as I've always been a thirst person, even as a kid)!! Thank you Med-Surg floor for your care.

All I can say is doctors I've dealt with here were all INCREDIBLE...nurses were quick to check-in. most recently my ER visit was due to extreme pain in my hand after it as infected at work. but most IMPORTANTLY is that both ladies that helped me were AMAZING 👏

I’m so appreciative of the thorough treatment and compassionate care I received at GSL St Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg. From my admission through the ER (EKG, blood tests, chest x-ray, initial diagnosis) to my inpatient care & discharge (physicians, nursing, blood tests, ECHO, dietary, housekeeping, & social admin), each person I encountered was competent and caring. (HOUSEKEEPING even folded towel- & washcloth-swans for the windowsill!). GSL has a culture of caring.

I've had several tests at the hospital and each time my experience was great. The nurses and support staff as well as technicians always treated me with kindness and respect. The wait is never long. I'm extremely impressed with all aspects of the hospital. Thanks for doing such a great job.
