Geisinger Lewistown Hospital

I would rather travel to a 3rd world country and have a shaman treat me for my ailments before coming to this hospital again. Im going to give a list of reasons why I feel that way. I would genuinely read this review before you consider coming here. I went into geisinger with a broken headlight. It was dark out, and i was suffering an infection in my knee so bad that I could hardly move my leg without shooting pain. A police officer followed me into the building, tried to apprehend me for my headlight, looked around the waiting room while they took my vitals across the hall scoffed, and walked off. That same visit, the person behind the desk in the er waiting room did not know how to spell influenza and asked the patient how to spell it. (It gets worse, dont worry) If that doesnt instill

Went in at 2am for bug bites that are affecting my major joints and causing soreness to where I cannot sleep as well as a chemical burn on my face and scalp that’s incredibly itchy and all they did was give me five pills that didn’t work and continued to send a prescription to my pharmacy that I can’t take til tomorrow cause it was one of the five pills they gave me that I said didn’t work before. Choose a better hospital

Visited the ER today and had a pilonidal cyst the PA Connor Yoder and Dr Moore were the best any patient could ask for. I’m an RN myself so sometimes my expectations are extremely high. They did everything I expected them to do. Pa Connor was excellent in performing the minor surgery and then packing and dressing it. They educated me on who is most prone for getting pilonidal cysts, were personable and also extremely professional. I highly recommend their care to any individual. Thank you medical team at GLH ER who worked morning hours 10/22/25. Can’t say enough positive things about you all!

I just had to be late for work because my type 1 diabetic mother called me crying saying she never got her breakfeast at 10:15 am. This is absolutley ridiculous and inhumane. The staff was very rude to me about the whole situation, this hospital shouldn't even exist in my opinion but they should really consider hiring better staff to properly treat patients with the medical attention that they need and deserve. I have begged these doctors here to send my mother to Danville for weeks and I get the same excuse everytime "There isn't anything Danville couldn't do that we can't do here" which is a lie because everytime my mother got sent to Danville previously it was always a different result and opinion than what Lewistown hospital had to offer. I had to be in a room full of doctors last week

i go here for all my x-rays cat scans mri’s. mammogram’s etc. i also see my OB/GYN here. this place has alot of different offices. there are also multiple floors for inpatient care. they also do bloodwork. the staff is very helpful with directions and whatever else is needed. there is also a heli pad here for life flight. i would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great care. this hospital also has oncology services available
