Gateway Urgent Care - Columbia

Can't say enough good things about my experience at this urgent care. Danielle the Director was phenomenal and so tentative to me and the patient I brought in from our clinic across the street. The staff were friendly, efficient, and so helpful with this older gentleman. They didn't just help him but sat and joked and listened to all of his stories. This patient walked in very frustrated with the situation but in the end, I don't think he wanted to leave!! Thank you gateway, urgent care Columbia.

I would like to share that most of the negative reviews have nothing to do with the care that is provided at this amazing center. They are upset with billing which is separate from what these amazing health care workers are doing, which is providing a needed service to the Columbia and surrounding areas. I have also been and will always receive the best care when unable to get into my PCP. The care and attention that is given from signing in to being discharged is spectacular!! Again thankful that they are here to serve our community. Thank you for all you do!!

Stopped in to be tested for COVID. Called prior to make sure an appointment wasn’t necessary, the receptionist was very helpful over the phone. She let me know how many people were there at that time and how long each test would take. When I arrived there was a couple of people in front of me but the wait wasn’t very long. Everyone from the front desk to the nurse and nurse practitioner were very nice and professional!

We had to make a recent urgent care visit and went to the Columbia, IL location due to the convenience of where we live. The service we received was great. My issue is with billing. I also work in the medical profession, dealing with patients and insurance daily. We are bound to tell our patients prior to providing service if we are an out of network provider. Thus, letting them make the decision to proceed with care or not. I also understand it is our responsibility to know our coverage and benefits, so we erred on that part. I do not appreciate the lack of communication in this matter. Had we been told prior to treatment, we would have driven 10 minutes further to an in network provider. We have been to this center on multiple visits in the past 2 years and service was always very subpar to begin with. Today we sat for over and hour and a half in the waiting area after letting them know why we were there. Finally we decided to ask what was taking so long as there was another family who arrived before us still waiting as well and no one has come in out out of the back at all during this time wither of us had arrived. The girl at the counter proceeded to apologize and then tell me that she was just entering my information to be seen but it could still be another hour before a NP would see me.
