The anesthesia they use is horrible, make you sick since you breathe on that horrible smell like gas, that make cough, how bad it was, until the next day. That cause me high fever, headache, chills, pain on my body too; I called after my procedure to let them know, I was feeling so sick, and they blame at COVID or flu. I drink a lot of fluids, taylenol and rest. The next day, I feel so much better, if it was COVID or flu, I am pretty sure, I still feel sick. They didn’t pay attention to my sickness, and I am pretty sure, it was the substance they use as anesthesia. I had different procedures before, somewhere else, and I never experienced anything like that before. I hope I don’t get anything else from it. Horrible!!!

I had to write a comment about Gastroenterology Associates of Fairfield when I saw some negative reviews. I’ve been going here for more years than I can recall and I have always been treated with dignity, respect and compassion by my doctor (Dr. Spivack), her PA, Brian Clancy and the other staff members. They are very professional and through. They are responsive to communication via telephone and the patient portal. Unfortunately, Dr Spivack is not taking new patients at this time but there are other qualified physicians in this practice. Thank you for many years of great care you have provided me. As far as I’m concerned GIA is superior on many levels.

Beware: If a doctor makes a mistake or if you don’t want to continue seeing one specific doctor, instead of offering you another doctor in their system, this practice will block you from being a patient of any doctor in their system. This is highly problematic because they are very networked in the region, so that will DECREASE YOUR CHANCES OF SEEING A GI DR NEARBY. They should be stopped from being able to enforce this policy. This is an unethically restrictive punitive policy that harms patients and serves no purpose. I received below standard of normal care and when I complained about their doctor’s negligence, the office would not allow me to see a single other doctor in their system. I'm sure Dr. Mauer's care is great but I wouldn't know because the office policies there, and the scheduling team that enforces them, are about as uncaring as you can get. After a miscommunication regarding my insurance and what they claim to be a "no call/ no show" missed appt, they refuse to give me a second chance to have a consultation despite now having two separate referrals to be examined by Dr. Mauer. Currently disappointed and still no closer to finding out what's wrong... I hope they consider a change in their policies to be more understanding and geared toward actually helping people.

Save your time and go to a practice that ACTUALLY values their patients. I have been consistently mistreated and misdiagnosed by Dr. Cobrin, yet she doesn't seem to remember our interactions every time I see her. They are so focused on getting a paycheck, that their patients are just a pile of dollar bills to them. The front desk is rude and unhelpful, and the "doctors" treat each disorder and disease the same, instead of using a personalized approach for each patient. Just an all around AWFUL office with rude and pretentious staff.
