Owen and Dr Crosse were very personable and had a caring bedside manner! I didn’t feel like I was being herded through a turn style but I was listened to and he even asked if I had any further questions after typing up his notes and instructions for scheduling my colonoscopy. Very refreshing for someone who’s had chronic digestive pain and problems for 9 years! Appreciate the young lady at check in and check out as well, they were very helpful and kind too considering the number of patients they must have. I hope the surgery center people will be the same for my upcoming colonoscopy!

The communication from Dr.Crosse is awful as well as the portal they use. In order to find a dr. on the Healow you need to have a practice code. If you don’t, you are directed to put your dr’s name and location in. The location of the office is Columbia, MD. When I spoke to admin assistant, ,she told me you have to put Miami in as the location because that’s the home base for Gastro Health. In what world does this make sense??? It doesn’t. Dr Crosse sent in script for me without contacting me as to why he was ordering that med. Turns out the med is not cost effective (not covered by insurance, Medicare) He did not give me explanation as to an alternative med. nor do I know if he reviewed other meds I’m currently taking to see if there are any contraindications with the new med. The procedures conducted by Dr. Crosse went smoothly. The issue I have with this practice is that communication is awful. Specifically, nobody responds to messages. I saw Tricia Carvalho for my initial visit to schedule the appointments for the procedures with Dr. Crosse. I was even given the contact information for the Customers Care Specialist and was told to contact her if I have any questions. I did end up eventually emailing the Customer Care Specialist with a request to add an additional procedure with Dr. Crosse but was met with silence. I then tried to message Tricia and was met with more silence. Eventually, the office manager, Danielle, reached out and finally responded to my request after a week of no response for anyone. I had an extremely positive experience with a no-anesthesia colonscopy from Dr. Alex Biju and staff. All providers were very well informed and prepared. They provided clear instructions and corrected me when necessary. Columbia facility is well-equipped and flow through is well-organized. My care direction was respected. Scheduling is a bit tight but an automated waiting list helped. So far (weeks since) I did not experience any of the billing issues reported by others on the Internet.

The communication is terrible. I have been waiting for a week for the nurse practitioner to respond to my portal messages and phone calls. No one covered for her while she was on vacation and there was not an out office message posted to the portal. They need better business practices.
