Garland VA Medical Center

i broke my wrist the 16th of january 2026. went to a local er facility near me as dallas va is an hour away. so i call this facility as i am registered there. come to find out i no longer have a pcp here. i call around and get the run around and no communication at all. so i go up there to schedule a appt in person. guess what three months is the waiting time. i need a referral for corrective surgery for this injury and all they can say is go to the va er. though i already have been seen and is in my notes. the dallas area va centers are not friendly nor do they care about the veterans they see daily.

I should've listened to the reviews of veterans frustration with this VA Center. I recently transferred my care to the Garland VA after moving to Dallas for work. Unfortunately, the staff were rude and dismissive, which was disappointing as a veteran. Being told my appointment is three months away only added to the frustration. Veterans deserve respectful treatment and timely access to care. What can I do? Should I just avoid Garland VA and try the North Dallas VA?

Cant/wont do anything outside of regular check ups. Had a couple issues I wanted to talk to Dr. Mithani? About and he asked me, "what do you want me to do about it?" To which I replied, "I dont know.. you're the Dr." ..seriously? But still.. didnt surprise me really as most of the staff in this place is generally rude/short. Last appointment was due to be over the phone during the day. So we set the time and I made sure I was available since I would be at work. The time came and I waited 30mins before giving up. Eventually I see I missed a call from the VA 2.5hrs AFTER the appointment time. But of course you cant reach anyone, or even a place directly so... Then get a letter just days after saying I failed to make the appointment. Funny how quick they are to tell me that I missed the appo

Just got a call from the clerk or someone up there. I have waited 3+ months for this appointment. She calls me and ask “who are you coming up here to see?” My PCM of course… she says “oh we have new clerks in training and they put you down for the wrong doctor. You can walk in and we can see if the doctor is willing to see you” and then says “I’ll have a clerk call you to let you know your PCMs next available appointment “ I’ve already waited months for this one and you think I’m about to drive 45 minutes for you not to see me?! In what world does that even make sense?! ***MY PCM IS GREAT, but whomever is training these clerks… or put this person up to call me and tell me that without a viable solution… TRASH. My doctor does not take my symptoms seriously since seeing her in August. I have high liver enzymes, abnormal lymph nodes results, fatigue, headaches, memory loss, balding, weak nails, and nasty bruising. My health care team also insinuated that I’m lying about doing my second labs because they are still showing as pending. Not to mention how many times I’ve had my ct scans results sent to them from the facility they referred me to but continuously said they didn’t get the results. I’ve tried my patient advocate twice, requested to change PCM, requested community care (since months out is when they could get me back in, but Dr refused to refer me), and multiple inquiries to locate my lab results. Still NOTHING has been done. I will be calling tomorrow to submit a formal complaint. I fear s
