Friendship Dental Care

I called on a random Tuesday afternoon to make an appointment for a DEEP cleaning. I already had my own dentist, but not only were they not in network involving my insurance(not their fault) they also told me it would have to be broken up into two different visits. Friendship Dental got me in the day after I called, as a new patient. I came in, expecting a simple consultation and that I would have to come back. Amber, who helped me that day, was HEAVEN SENT. I explained my concerns, she was thorough in explaining what was going to happen and did whatever she could to make me as comfortable as possible. I have taken my son three separate times for a simple filling, and all three times we were turned away after arriving on time and waiting. The first visit, my son was already numbed and prepped, ready for the filling. We were then left waiting for an hour and a half before being told they couldn’t do it that day. I understand that issues can come up so we just rescheduled with no problem. The second visit, we again waited over an hour, only to be told the dentist wasn’t coming in and the other dentist “didn’t have availability.” This should have been communicated before we arrived, not after wasting our time. My last dentist had retired (I had been with her for 20+ years) and I didn't like the new office that she moved us to so I was in between dentists since January of 2025. I decided to give Friendship Dental a try. They were new and close to home. I went in for a cleaning in January 2026. They did a very thorough job. They found that I had some cavities that I needed taken care of. I made the appointments and got them done. Dr. Serniak and his assistants were kind and attentive. He explained everything he was doing as he went. As I waited for the numbing meds to work his assistants checked in on me to make sure I was okay. They even let me pick what kind of music we listened to while they worked. Anyone who is looking for a new dentist I recommend giving them a try.

Probably the only thing that I was pleased about is the location. Literally on my way to work. To start, the hygienist could have been a little more friendly and try to get to know her patient. Very awkward just sitting while her back was to me looking at the computer. My biggest complaint is that the female dentist, came in for an exam BEFORE the hygienist even put the bib or even started the cleaning. She immediately started treatment planning without even looking in my mouth. The hygienist wanted to present the treatment plan and cost before the cleaning. The cleaning was mediocre and rushed. Literally they looked at X-rays longer than the cleaning.

Note Added in Response to Owner's Response: Prior to leaving this review, I called twice and no one called me back. The first time I left a detailed voice mail. The second time, I left a detailed message with the person who answered the phone. It has ow been 3 full days, and no one has called me or my daughter about the situation. My daughter went in for her initial visit and was told she had a cavity, but they decided to “watch it” instead of treating it. Six months later, that same cavity had progressed so much that she needed a crown instead of a simple filling. If they had addressed it when it was first found, the crown would not have been necessary. She received a temporary crown.
