Fort Meade Veterinary Treatment Facility

Dr. McCarthy, the reception staff, and the veterinary assistants went above and beyond! I recently made my first visit to this facility for my cats, Sawyer and Margot, to have their vaccines updated, and have a check-up. As I walked up to the facility with my cat carrier, the kind gentleman in the front opened the door for me to help me not rattle the cat. He was very kind when I came in, too. When it was time for my cat to be seen, the veterinary assistant was nothing but kind and professional. She handled Margot according to how Margot acted. She was very gentle and fair. I have had other veterinary facilities handle her very roughly when she is extremely easily handled and calm. Not a single person here handled Margot roughly. I've been taking my dogs to Ft. Meade Veterinary Clinic for over 20 years, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the care we’ve received. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming — every visit feels like we’re seeing old friends who genuinely care about our pets. The veterinarians and techs are professional, compassionate, and always take the time to explain things clearly. Whether it's a routine check-up and/or vaccinations, I always feel confident that my dogs are in excellent hands. You can tell that everyone at Ft. Quality and price is good but the bureaucracy for scheduling appointments is unnecessarily bureaucratic and complex. Also, they are regularly over 30 minutes late for appointments and yet have a policy of denied access for at least 6 months if you are late more than 10 minutes. Be prepared.

Exactly the level of professionalism you would wish for when entrusting someone with the care for your pets. The staff were friendly and seemed like genuine animal lovers. My dog is very dramatic when it comes to shots and the staff knew just how to calm him without being rough. Great job!
