FirstHealth Primary Care - Whispering Pines

We've been seeing Thomas Wilkins as our family doctor for probably a decade now. I'm always happy with the care my kids and I receive. It's important to me to have a family doctor who is consistent through my kids' lives, and someone I feel comfortable with. Mr. Wilkins has never tried to charge me for services I didn't receive (another doctor refused to count my checkup as a physical and instead charged for a sick visit because I wrote asthma on my medical history, even though I refused asthma treatment when she offered since I have a great allergist). He has a great bedside manner.

We have been going to this clinic since it first opened. Great Care and friendly staff!

BEWARE TO PARENTS OF TRANSGENDER KIDS: My son goes to the gender clinic at UNC and his psychologist recently asked Todd Nicholson if he would do a simple blood test so my son can move forward with receiving much needed hormone treatment. He refused. The gender psychologist was floored. I have moved my son's care to a more progressive and supportive PCP. Transphobia is not OK.

First Health Family Medicine is an amazing place to go. I have to brag on my doctor Todd Nicholson and the nurses. They took care of me on Monday and stayed by my side until the paramedics arrived. This team at the First Health Family Medicine in Whispering Pines is amazing and I wouldn’t choose any other place to be. I have to mention that the facility is always clean and smells fresh.

I recently went to an appointment with my daughter who has been a patient of Todd Nicholson for a few years now. My daughter is aTBI (traumatic brain injury patient with a frontal lobe injury) in addition to that she suffers from diabetes insipidus- hypopituitarism- pancreatitis & short term memory loss. Which all of these are serious problems if not treated. So we checked in, front desk ladies were very nice, sent us to the second waiting area. Her vitals were taken and we waited for the doctor. Dr.Nicholson came in the room didn’t introduce himself to me at ALL ( he’s never met me before) we began explaining that she was in need of a referral to see specialists for her conditions. He was absolutely dumbfounded, as I was trying to explain it to him, he was rude! He tried to look up any in
