First Dental

Arguably one of the worst dental experiences I have had. Went in complaining of tooth sensitivity on one tooth and in the end was given a treatment plan for over $8k of work they wanted to do. I am currently nursing my son (he does not take a bottle) and during the consultation I was told my root canal would need to be done under sedation. When I asked how that would impact my breastfeeding my son they told me I would "just need to pump and dump for 24 hours." I then told them that was not an option for me as my son exclusively chest feeds and we could not pump and dump as he is not taking, nor will I be giving him a bottle. The consultant continued to tell me it would only be for 24 hours but I could resume breastfeeding after that. After telling her no not once nor twice, but THREE times

Went for my fist appointment today and was the first time I felt ok having to have work done, the hygienist explained to me what the numbers were and why they needed them. I didn't feel gas lit or made to to feel horrible by the dr because I have some issues which helped alot. They didn't make me feel invisible and actually talked to me and made sure i was as comfortableas possible. I was still nervous but feel decent about the treatment ahead with them. Dr K thank you for taking notice of the nervousness and working to not make me feel as nervous.

I had a bad experience here. They asked invasive personal questions like if my son was the youngest despite having birthed him at 18 when I told them I had 3 children. had a translator for me on the first few visits despite speaking English and charged me for fluoride treatment despite warning them not to do anything the insurance won’t cover. My son's Medicaid covers everything, and as a no-income, homeless mom relying on charity, I couldn't afford the surprise bill. They got me to sign an authorization form under false pretenses. This experience made us hesitant to return, and we now travel 2.5 hours to a different office that takes Medicaid without surprise charges.

Our first visit here, everyone made my son feel comfortable as soon as we stepped through the door. Even before the visit the receptionist was very friendly and helped me when I had an issue filling out an online form. The dental hygenist and dentist were both very kind and professional. All around surpassed our expectations, most importantly my son feels at ease about future appointments.

Took my daughter there, they said she had four cavities that needed over $3000 worth of work done, which seemed odd for baby teeth so i got a second opinion. Come to find out she only had one cavity and it wasn’t necessary to do a quarter of the work they were wanting to do. Genuinely just seemed like a cash grab to anyone who has insurance. So don’t know to blame the poor X-rays or the dentists themselves, but either way, they had my 6 year crying and freaking out over imaginary issues. Just makes you wonder how many kids they’ve traumatized for a little extra cash?
