Family Care Dahlonega

This review was originally a very scathing one posted out of upset and frustration. The merge with Northside has been frustrating due to lack of communication and price raises. I cant speak for all patients but I was not warned that the price of my visit had been increased until I got the bill. Insured copay for me trippled and I was informed uninsured flatrate is now 201 instead of 100. I was also told I would have to be seen under the new system to continue getting refills on my medication which was 200 I don't have right now. Dr.Dowis and her care team are amazing, they listen to patients and care about them but this transition has been stressful and especially frustrating for me as a lower income patient.

They’re owned by Northside now, which means you get no communication, no scheduling options, and higher prices for what’s ultimately worse care (which is not the staffs fault, Northside is just cheap). It sucks to see larger corporations ruin places like this, which I formerly would’ve trusted with my life, and very literally did when I had chest pains. Just go somewhere else, make the extra drive.

I visited today for a severely painful sinus infection, and as soon as I was called back I was met with such empathy and kindness since I got emotional due to the pain I was in. Both the doctor and nurse who saw me were so sweet and made me feel very cared for. The great staff here are the reason they are my Urgent Care of choice when I am in Dahlonega for school. I will always recommend Family Care!

This was our first visit, and it could not have gone better. My sister is disabled, with both physical and emotional struggles. Dr. Dowis, Taylor, and the entire team were so kind, helpful, understanding, and compassionate. We drove 45 mins, and it was worth every mile. They are definitely our new primary care providers! Thank you SO much, and may God bless you for your kindness. ♥️

Thorough, professional and caring. I visited for a minor emergency and stayed on as a patient. Everyone on this team is a professional and you soon feel like you've known them forever.
