Family Asthma & Allergy Center

Hi: I am writing this review for Dr. Tarun Kumar who is probably one of the best allergists I have met so far. Three years ago, I used to get nasal blocks a lot during evenings and red rashes on my leg. Dr. Kumar came up with a clear strategy for testing my environmental and food allergies -namely gluten and nuts- almonds, cashews, and peanuts. The food allergy tests were done during 4 hrs. sessions which had systematic introduction of the allergen. I feared peanuts but today I have incorporated all nuts including peanut as part of my diet. It is very clear now that environmental allergies are my main issues and my discussion with him on using saline nasal spray and handling dog allergies has helped control the occasional flare-ups. Have been dealing w severe allergy issues for years (itchy scratched up eyelids, skin dermatitis and asthma whenever I exercise) and finally decided to give allergy shots a try. The entire clinic is so nice and welcoming. Staff is super sweet and accommodating, and Dr. Kumar is very knowledgeable and nice. They address all my questions and concerns, regularly checks in with me. Makes the whole process a lot easier. From allergy testing, to allergy shots, to getting on Dupixient, this has transformed my day to day.

Really great doctors and staff! They stay up to date with the latest treatments: Dr. Kumar is absolutely wonderful interactions and helps educate me on the treatments we're doing and why the approach. The staff is super friendly (and they even get me a cup of coffee while waiting!)! My friend was having issues with previous her allergist and treatments were ineffective, and says it's a world of difference (much better) now that she's at Redwood City Family Asthma & Allergy Center!

My daughter was constantly sick, after 2 years of not getting diagnosed, she got diagnosed with Allergy at this clinic and since then she is like any other child. They changed our lives and we are always very thankful. Nice friendly staff and doctors. Very professional and helpful.

Fantastic clinic! In the two years since I started with them everything from the initial consultation to recurring allergy shot visits has gone like clockwork. The treatment has worked better than I expected and their charges are always reasonable. Dr. Tarun Kumar is thorough and kind, the office staff are prompt, courteous, and always in a good mood. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes after arrival to be seen. Overall, this is a perfect example of how a healthcare practice should be run. I've referred several people since I started there myself. If you are considering allergy treatments, don't think twice about visiting the Family Asthma & Allergy Center. As a bonus, the store down the street has amazing elotes! :)
