We finally found Shamim after working through many speech therapists who have been unable to make progress with our 4 year old child at the time. Our hope was looking grim for our child to ever start speaking, but I read somewhere that Shamim was able to help their non-verbal child start talking - I didn't hesitate to contact her right away. We got an official apraxia diagnosis through Shamim and she educated us the journey of how intensive speech was necessary to help develop motor oral muscles along with articulation work. Shamim is absolutely an amazing speech pathologist, and I would highly recommend her without reservations. Although we only worked with Shamim for three months our child made tremendous progress with her help. We only stopped working with her because we moved out of state. If we could continue services with her, we absolutely would. Shamim is wonderful with kids. We have been through several speech therapists, and had over the years seen some slow progress, but speech has always been frustrating. We have been working with Shamim for 2.5 years and she is hands down the best speech therapist in the Bay Area. She is PROMPT trained and has an amazing way of working with our daughter that has been both motivating and fun for her. We have gone from non verbal to speaking in complete sentences (with just minor articulation challenges) in just a few years time. Shamim is kind, patient, and exceptional at what she does. She is like that tough coach we all grew up playing sports for- they motivate you to put in the hard work and effort which then makes you a better person as a result.
