Exotic Bird Hospital

Dr. Hipkiss and the staff at Exotic Bird Hospital have been so amazing over the last month treating my cockatiel Sully who had an infection! They have been extremely thorough, called me everyday with updates, and did their best to make Sully comfortable while he stayed at the hospital. They have even gone out of their way to fit me in for a last minute appointment on a busy Saturday. I can’t say thank you enough and am extremely grateful to have them here in Jax!

I am beyond grateful to the Exotic Bird Hospital for being there when I needed them most. They were able to see me right away for an emergency, and from the moment I walked in, I could tell how much they truly care about the animals they treat. The staff was quick, careful, and incredibly attentive — every detail mattered to them, and that gave me so much peace of mind. I had heard wonderful things about this place, and now I can say from experience that all of it is true. Knowing my bird was in such skilled, compassionate hands meant the world to me. We brought our beloved cockatiel here for about a year. The doctors were able to diagnose her with Bornavirus and did their best to manage her condition with the resources they had. However, when it came time to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go, our experience was extremely disappointing. Over the weekend we communicated with the clinic and were told by a vet tech that they would arrange a quality-of-life visit for Monday. I called first thing Monday morning, but no one answered. When I called back an hour and fifteen minutes later, the staff acted as if I was being a nuisance and told me it would be treated as an emergency visit with a minimum $350 deposit — and that they might not even be able to fit us in, despite our conversations on Saturday and my follow-up message on S

Dr. Colbert has been taking care of my parrots and reptiles since I moved to Jacksonville 3 years ago. He’s incredibly thorough and handles all my animals with care and professionalism. Every visit is stress-free, and it's clear he’s passionate and knowledgeable about exotic pets. I trust him completely. The whole team is friendly, helpful, and always goes above and beyond. I wouldn’t take my animals anywhere else!

This is the BEST place hands down to take your winged family member to! Everyone is very knowledgeable and super friendly and very nice. They really do care here. The veterinarian and her assistant where super awesome in handling our mean little buddy. He did 1000 times better here and didn't freak out like he did at the other places. We will never take our winged family member anywhere else!! We absolutely loved it. It's super cool inside and there's even a little store to buy your little buddy whatever they need!
