Employee Health Center

I am a Parkland employee and have been coming to the Employee Health Clinic for 3 years now. They listen to my concerns, communicate well, have had no issues with anyone there. My chart has been a great too to stay in touch with the clinic and the doctors. I see Dr. Akpan and she always listens to my concerns, takes my nursing experience into consideration and makes sure I get proper specialist consults if needed. I do not know what other patients expect, royal treatment?

Nurse navigator was great. Was very flexible and helped me get a consultation the day I called. Dr. Nichols was phenomenal. Listened to all my complaints, no matter how small, and was very helpful.

I started out at this clinic back in March when starting my position at parkland and I will no longer be seeing Dr. Falola or Dr. Akpan and continue with another doctor outside parkland. I have visited with a specialist that specializes in PCOS and I have been diagnosed with PCOS despite the misdiagnosis that Dr. Akpan concluded to. I have gotten multiple blood tests including my insulin levels that weren’t checked at this clinic and my insulin levels were elevated, which is a sign of PCOS. That is why it is so hard for me to lose weight, even though I eat healthy and regularly exercise. Dr. Akpan disregarded what I said about my difficulty losing weight along with all of my symptoms and misdiagnosed me. Front desk lady was very nice. The doctor was very rude and just had poor customer service from the beginning. Then I ask the doctor’s assistant to give me the number to management and I received the wrong number. I had to google it.

The front desk ladies are very nice and very helpful, also the pca's and the nurse's are very nice , the only problem I have with EPO is two of the female Doctors their very rude, the other Doctor's are just fine also the lab people are very nice and I have been in there twice and both times they took blood from me I didn't even feel the stick ,so they know what they are doing and that's a good job!!!!
