ECU Health Duplin Hospital

I have been to this location a few times many years ago when it was under different management and a different hospital name. I went here tonight with my elderly mom who it turns out has the flu and pneumonia. The hospital staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Talking with us, explaining everything, answering questions, promptly doing testing of all kinds to truly find out what was going on with her complex situation and just generally being helpful. I would highly recommend this little hospital to anyone in need of basic ER care. This is a smaller rural hospital with a very small ER. Of course they can't handle major traumas or things like that. But, for basic everyday emergency needs, this is a great choice. You'll be seein here a lot quicker than other larger hospitals within 50 mi

This is the most horrible and unefficient hospital ever. I have been sitting here for 5 hours with my boyfriend and nothing has even been said to us in over 2 hours. We were moved to the hall because they needed the room for a family. I'm not upset because we were moved... I am upset because nobody even asked if they could get me a chair and left me standing there like I was stupid. We have been watching people walk by for the last 2 hours and nobody has said anything to us. I really regret coming here. I'm gonna avoid this place at all costs from now on. I'll take my chances in Jacksonville from now on. I wish I could give zero stars but I can't.

We arrived early and thought that we'd have to wait till our appointment time. That's not what happened. We were seen within 5 minutes of our arrival. Finished up front with Admin. and went to Radiology for a bone density test. We weren't there 3 or 4 minutes and was called to the back. They were fast and courteous and efficient. Thank them for us.

Took my 86 y/o mom to the Ed via ambulance - only to have brought into the ED waiting room to sit from 11:30am to 7 pm and not see a physician. To have her vitals taken 3-4 times with BP reading 183/102 and worse - still not seen by a dr. No food or drinking since 6pm the previous day. Lips extremely chapped but no one seem to care except Angel the receptionist/intake personnel. She was kind and always answered my questions and even up one the end of her shift outside she said I’m sorry your mom didn’t get seen. There were others that had been there longer and needed to be seen. My mom is handicapped, has an unsteady gait. She is in hospice home care and she has a do not resuscitate order but she’s still a person who was in pain. Very disappointed… Please people if you have an elderly fa

The experience was great. I went for a mammogram, the lady that assisted me was very gentle and kind. Even when I checked the lady was so gracious and polite, she even gave me a hug also my waiting time was short.
