E.A.R. Customized Hearing

Bought $400 in ear monitors for my motorcycle helmet. They broke the first time I tried them- wire pulled right out of the left side when I took my helmet off. The ordering process took well over 3 months. Impossible now to get them to answer the phone.

I had spent BIG money over the years on headphones and earbuds but never found that ‘in the recording studio’ feel. An audiologist suggested I try out a custom made iPlugz from E.A.R.Inc. I ordered, they arrived, I slotted them in my ears and … the world went silent!!! From then on I listened to my tunes in outer space man!!! 6 months later, one side went silent,,, oh no! I spoke with E.A.R.Inc, they said send it back. It soon returned with thicker leads, and I have never looked back in the 10 years I’ve owned them. Purchased a set of custom motorcycle earplugs from the NYC motorcycle show a few years ago. Those plugs stopped working with no sound coming out. I reached out to EAR and they told me I was better off ordering a new set as the new plugs would sound better. I specifically explained over the phone what I use them for. They charged me over 300 bucks and what I got back was not what I expected. They looked nothing like my original plugs which they had so no excuse. They were big blocks they would not fit under a motorcycle helmet. After not being able to where them do to pain and discomfort I called and they told me to send them back. It took a very long time over a month to get a new set back to me. I tried them again but it was impossible to wear for more than an hour because the plastic w

This used to be a fantastic company. I got my first pair of custom-molded earphones from them back in 2007. They were great: comfortable enough to wear all day long, and decent sound. But like all things, they didn't last forever. When one of the drivers broke (my fault -- snagged the cable on something and tore the driver out), I ordered a replacement pair last year. That's when the problems began. The new ones didn't fit very well, and they didn't work with my cell phone. I sent them back. After a month I got the replacements, which fit well enough and worked, though the cable looked pretty cheap -- a lot flimsier than my old pair. Indeed it was. A year later, the insulation on the cable was brittle and had cracked in a couple places. I called and asked about the warrantee. T
