Duthie Orthodontics - Ithaca

When Dr. Duthie was there, our experience was always fantastic. We met him as part of the cleft palate team when our child was just a toddler and checked in with him periodically through the years. He was so knowledgeable and supportive. The techs were great. The office staff was great. When Dr. Duthie left things started to deteriorate and have gone from bad to downright appalling. They don't even answer the phone or respond to messages anymore. We are going to have to change practices in order to manage our child's cleft care with a responsive and knowledgeable provider.

My sons have been patients there for years. It was great in the beginning when my oldest started and Dr Duthie was working. Over the last two years, the customer service as been very poor. Good luck getting someone to answer the phone and/or return your phone call. The office in Auburn has declined tremendously with wait times up to an hour after your scheduled appt. I have given them the benefit of the doubt for months but I am at a point that I would no longer recommend either office for their lack of patient care and turn over rate of Doctors (which I feel has prolonged my sons treatment)

It's a shame to see the practice Dr. Duthie built deteriorate so spectacularly under new ownership. If you are reading this as a prospective patient, it's not too late for you. Turn back. Find a practice with caring, competent doctors and staff who regard you as a human being with thoughts and feelings. The professionalism, skilled care, and operational efficiency that characterized Dr. Duthie's practice have been erased. What remains for me is a bitter self-loathing at having committed a second kid, not to mention thousands more of my hard-earned dollars, to the tattered remnants of this practice. This place is like an AI version of an orthodontist. If you don't look too closely, it's a reasonable approximation, but upon closer inspection, it is actually quite bonkers. Give your money to

My experience prior to Dr. Duthie leaving was always amazing. However, since then, the only person who has gone above and beyond was the front desk administrative assistant, Linda. And she does this despite being spoken down to, had others roll their eyes at her and even disregard her when she asked for support for a patient. I have witnessed all of this. It is my hope with the recent changes that she will be treated more fairly and others will stop being rude to Linda and patients families. I personally, have had to come in multiple times because the person who did my scan for new liners neglected to do all the necessary scans and pictures. Again, I hope that things in the very near future can return to a welcoming atmosphere. At least the first contact, at the front desk, is always welco

My husband has been treated here and may ultimately need a jaw procedure. Unfortunately, our experience so far has been extremely disappointing. There are no regular check-ins, communication is minimal, and concerns are not taken seriously. At one point he had a wire cutting into his mouth, causing significant discomfort, and we received no timely response or assistance. The lack of proactive care and follow-through has made us question whether patients here are truly supported. We expected more respect, communication, and responsiveness from this practice.
