Duke Primary Care Midtown

I usually enjoy visiting for my check-ups. Dr. Kiss is the best! Have been seeing her for roughly 10 years and I truly value her transparency and professionalism. However I had to visit for a post-COVID check-up up today with a different provider. My experience with Dr. Bill Griffiths was disappointing, to say the least. His condescending tone and dismissive comments created an environment that felt more belittling than supportive. As a patient, I expect clear communication and respect, not to be spoken down to. Professionalism and empathy are essential in healthcare, and I hope he deeply reflects on how his approach impacts those seeking his care.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Duke has been nothing short of appalling. From the smart-mouthed, gatekeeping nurses who treat patients with contempt instead of compassion, to the arrogant cardiologist who unilaterally decided to change a medication I’ve been stable on for six years simply because “I don’t like to write that medication”—the level of negligence and ego here is astounding. This is not medical care, it’s power-tripping at the expense of patient lives. The hostility goes even further. Duke enforces draconian rules such as threatening to banish patients permanently if they test positive for THC—even if it’s from something as harmless as smoking a joint at a concert. I have been going to Duke Midtown for several years and each experience is pleasurable. Dr.Kiss is the best ! She actually listens to her patients, communicates on the dukechart app very quickly and always helps me find solutions to my health problems. I drive far just to see her because she’s the first doctor to make me feel seen, heard and that my health matters. As a black woman that truly matters to me. My other two favorites at midtown is the MA, Rechetta she is so friendly, personable and you can tell she loves her job. Melinda, the best blood lady ever ! She is the only person that delivers a quick, pain free blood draw without resticking me. She is very funny as well. I highly recommend this location if you are looking for a PCP in Raleigh

Very short wait time. Dr. Robinson never makes you feel rushed. She makes you feel heard. All the staff is friendly.

Didn’t appreciate having to wait 20 minutes even after filling out the info online, but Dr. Shroff was excellent. I’ve been to the Leesville location (different location) at least 5 times over the past few months asking them to test for *everything* and they apparently didn’t. He seems genuinely determined to get to the bottom of my health concerns and get me some answers.
