Duke Endocrinology at Brier Creek

My mom was brought by me to the Duke Endocrinology/ Orthopedics clinic at Brier Creek for a bone density scan in early November of 2025. While we were pleased with the professionalism of the physician who gave her the scan, we were less than pleased with the black( don't know his name) male medical assistant at the desk who was completely rude. Other than asking my mom to have a seat he spent the entire duration of her visit talking to his coworker at the desk in an overly loud voice about his recent shopping visits and what he was going to buy and what shops he would recommend. There was no way to not hear him because he seemed to be announcing to everyone in earshot. Highly suggest this guy find another line of work since he is unsuitable to work in the medical field with such an uncarin

I had my first visit as a new patient with Dr. Akhter. She is a great doctor and a good listener who explained all treatment options thoroughly. In addition, the nurses were awesome. Thank you all for your great service. The only reason that I gave 4 stars is for the lab technician. When she called my name, she turned her back on me and walked away without recognizing me, which I found somewhat rude.

My diabetes was getting out of control and was spiraling downhill before I was referred to Dr. Barnosky at this location earlier this year. My A1C level has gone down from a 12 to a 7.2. She is an excellent doctor and I believe has perhaps extended my life. I wish I could give 10 stars to her and the professional staff at Duke Endocrinology. I recommend anyone who has bad sugar needs to see this Endocrinologist if they want to improve their quality of life. Thank you so much!

This was my first colonoscopy and my experience at this clinic was great! I was nervous because I didn't know what to expect but all the staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed. My prep nurse Debbie was so kind as she started the process she also made me more comfort by bring me a warm blanket. The whole team from Liz at the front desk, Quinn she was so sweet, Dr. Young, Kyle, Latisha, Rebecca and of course Dr Dufault. I heard he was highly requested and I'm so glad I choose him and his clinic! I strongly recommend this clinic!

I love Dr. Roa She spends time and listens to patience. It is rare to find anyone in the medical field like that anymore. The nurse that's her intake nurse is the sweetest ❤️❤️ I have been around in awhile. She just has a ora with her. I won't go anywhere else. Dr. Roa sees myself and my son..
