Diversicare of Haysville

I had a family member reside at this long-term care facility, and my experience was extremely concerning. During that time, I had repeated difficulty communicating with the administrator, Curtis, and the HR representative/social worker, Tammy. Phone calls, voicemails, and emails often went unanswered and were not returned. When visiting my loved one, I personally observed numerous residents sitting in soiled diapers for extended periods of time. In some instances, urine and feces had leaked onto the floor. I also witnessed insects on residents. Diversa Care in Haysville has been such a blessing for my grandma and our whole family. From the very first day, the staff welcomed her like she was one of their own. They know her by name, remember the little things she likes, and always take the time to make her smile. The building is always clean and feels cozy, but it’s the people who make it truly special. The Director of Nursing is amazing—she’s not just in an office, she’s out there with the residents, checking in, lending a hand, and making sure every person is cared for like family. You can tell her heart is in this place, and it sets the tone for the whole team. Had to put my Mom in a facility, which was a very hard decision. Since my Mom has been in this facility it's been great for her, the staff is great. The staff has all kinds of activities for the residents; I have seen activities from a car show to fair days with animals brought in. I visit my mom on a weekly basis and am very happy that she's there.

My cousin has been living at Diversicare in Haysville for about a year. She has expressed to me on several occasions that the facility is clean and that the food is good and well prepared. She says most of the staff is exceptional.

I had good faith in this place but where do I begin? Had to bring my Grandpa here due to personal reasons and I thought it was a good place. One day, when I came to check on him I swear I heard the DoN calling the residents and the staff the Hard R. But that's not even. The worst if it, something that made me immediately take my Grandpa out of there was overhearing a conversation from residents about a fellow resident running out of oxygen recently and dying because they "forgot to check it". But before I heard the conversation among the residents, it seems the staff treat their family members better than others.
