Direct Primary Care New Braunfels

I did not have the best experience as a new patient. After Dr. Kay explained that they are a small staff, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and agreed to go through their process. However, the system they use to communicate made it difficult to receive timely responses due to glitches, and I had to call and email several times before my first Zoom appointment. When I finally spoke with a NP Becky, she appeared distracted and was searching for items in her car during the call. She also mentioned the call happened because I had contacted the office multiple times, which made me feel like a burden rather than a new patient. I understand medical offices can be busy, but this interaction did not make me feel welcomed or supported, so I chose to cancel and seek care elsewhere.

We’ve enjoyed direct primary care services since 2021 With great satisfaction. Dr Kay was always very responsive ,caring and helpful. He subscribed medication directly to our local pharmacy when needed, helped with letters to school and even took the time to look at our son at his clinic. We loved the personal care and the app (fast) communication and kept using his services long after we moved to another city. Highly recommended!

Dr. Kay provides great care for both functional medicine and primary care. We've been his patients for over 3 years, and highly recommend him. Recently, my father-in-law unexpectedly passed away, and my husband would be officiating the memorial service within the next few days. If that wasn't difficult enough, as we were packing the car to leave for my in-laws' home, my husband had a kidney stone flare up. Dr. Kay was quick to respond to the urgent request, and quickly ordered the meds necessary for us to make the trip. He gave us a list of things to do, what conditions would necessitate getting to a hospital, and prayed for us. He reminded us he was just a text away if we needed him, and he checked on my husband multiple times in the days following. It was a great comfort to have Dr. Kay'

I have only been with Dr. Kay a few days, but in this brief time, he has already accomplished more in an effort to diagnose what is wrong with me than the previous doctor did in 6 months. His attentiveness, knowledge and unrestricted ability to “get things done” is more than appreciated, and a very welcome change to the status quo of healthcare today. Highly recommend.
