I had a good overall experience at Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery Group of Northern Virginia, PLLC. I saw Dr. Nimms for a skin evaluation, and everything was handled professionally and efficiently. I returned about three weeks later for a biopsy, and the process was smooth and well-explained. I received my results a couple of weeks afterward with clear communication. No complaints — solid care and service from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Below standard care. No doctor/patient relationship attempts, over years. Routing calls to answering service every morning and randomly during business hours - and they won’t take messages. Answer service woman is plain rude and condescending. Difficult to cancel appointments. So glad I found a better option in Fairfax.

Avoid Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery Group of Northern Virginia, PLLC (Dr. Nims, Dr. Barry, and Dr. Redbord). Ask your primary care physician or insurance for a different dermatologist. I too was referred to Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery Group of Northern Virginia, PLLC by Tricare Prime. Reading reviews before my visit, it was obvious they were NOT a 5 star Dermatology or Surgery group, but due to insurance restrictions, I decided to try them. I will highlight, I have seen several Dermatologists at Skin DC in Roslyn and had Mohs surgery under the watchful care of Dr. Vishal Patel (in Wash DC) in the past and those were 5 star experiences. The difference was SHOCKING! Dr. Nims’ bedside manner was non-existent. She was completely uninterested in previous relevant medical history

I was treated initially by Dr Berry who provided a treatment but she was a bit prickly in her bedside manner. She told me to schedule a follow up in a few weeks and I was then booked with Dr Nims for the follow up who was more warm and took a bit more time with me. She suggested another home treatment for 6 weeks before ordering a drug that may be more helpful but was not routinely ordered. When it didn’t do much and I called to schedule that appointment I made sure I asked the front desk to look through my chart because a specific treatment was going to be ordered in advance for this appointment. The soonest appointment they had was weeks away. I unfortunately had little confidence that it would actually be ordered by her response. Fast forward, my appointment is next week and I called to

I see Dr. Barry every two weeks, I think her bedside manner are great, I also think she is extremely intelligent. Do not underestimate her. As a patient she heard my concerns about what I am going through and really listened. I have a lot of respect for this Doctor, she is short simple, and to the point. Her staff is extremely friendly as well.
