Curahealth Jacksonville

My mother was in this facility a few years ago. The quality of care provided at this facility leaves much to be desired. My mother was able to walk and use her hands and had flawless skin PRIOR to entry into this facility. While in this facility, she was not given proper care. As a result, upon the day of her release from this facility, my mother had severe bed sores, an inability to walk and an inability to open her hands. Mom had to undergo extensive physical and occupational therapy after her release due to the neglect she suffered while there. If you really love your family members, based on our experience of the quality of care provided to our mother, I highly recommend NOT using this facility.

I stayed at Curahealth for 16 days. I was quite worried after reading the reviews. I found it to be quite great. My favorite things were James the wound nurse who worked on my major wounds daily and was amazing, best in the business. The two internal Dr’s Blatt and Chopra were very good guys. Their bedside manor is awesome, I would love for either to be my primary care Sr going forward. Most of the nurses were amazing especially the night nurses. Charge nurses Ruby and Diatra were amazing. The food was incredible as Chef Jamie and Chef Milton can cook. Nancy from food service was perfect. The cleaning staff was great and I am so happy to have met Devin. Finally special thanks to nurses Tracey, Carey, Adel, Kevin, Victoria, Veronica, Sheila and Penny. My mom was very satisfied with this facility. It is an acute facility so the nursing care was above and beyond. The nutritionist meets you and tailors a meal plan with all your favorite healthy foods. The staff is caring and friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They understand their patients didn't choose to be in a facility and are sympathetic to their needs. My mom was never lonely, the rooms have tvs and are large enough to accompany larger equipment if needed. Plus, there are always students training and are more than happy to come in your room and help you and talk to you. It's clean and professional. The CEO of the Jacksonville facility was a pleasure as well. I highly recommend this facility. And, it smells wonderful, it does not have the odor of a traditional nursing hom

My father was a patient of Curahealth in March of 2019. I toured the facility before he was admitted and I found the facility and the rooms clean and maintained. During his stay he was well cared for. I would visit at different times but each time the staff heir remembered me and always stopped to tell me some detail about my father and his care. Beth in the Case Management office was my lifeline and was in touch with me daily with progress reports and care plans. In addition to attentive professional and compassionate nursing care, he also received regular visits from physical and speech therapists. I could not be happier with the care my 85 year old father received there and if he needed skilled nursing again, I would have no reservations with him returning.

Do not put your loved one here!! If you have no choice, make sure someone is by your loved one at all time. You have to stay on top of the staff. There was frequent miscommunication between the staff that could have worsened my loved one's already fragile and critical conditions if I hadn't been there. Nurses do not respond to patients' calls in a timely manner, and have the poorest bedside manner. I have witnessed several times patients being neglected despite calling for help. The place is dirty. Nurses are forgetful and leave medicine and injections laying around patients room. Also would find pills on the floor. This place needs to be shut down. I will be contacting the health dept as well.
