Cottage Urgent Care - Santa Barbara - Upper State

The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Very little wait time and cheerful bright comfortable environment. The nurse had a very nice bedside manner. This is my third visit and I always feel taken care of.

All around wonderful experience. Reception was friendly and helpful. They took me in quickly. My provider, Megan Horn, was patient kind, caring, and knowledgeable. No one likes to go to an urgent care but if you need to go, this one is pretty great! Beautiful facility and caring staff. Thank you!

My Saturday evening visit to Cottage Urgent Care on upper State street felt more like a wellness retreat at a fancy resort spa than walking it I to a clinic without an appointment. I was immediately ushered into a private room. The vibe was modern, clean and peaceful. My intake nurse, Erika, could not have been more kind and nurturing. She even insisted on bringing me a hot cup of tea with honey. Sharon, the attending NP was very thorough and patient. I never felt rushed or like a number being moved through a system. She gave me options, listened to my concerns and made me feel a part of the process. Gabe professionally and swiftly took my chest X-rays. We came to the Cottage Urgent Care location on Upper State to have some stitches removed. There was a little bit of a wait mid-day on a Tuesday, but communication with the staff was great. Ricardo went above and beyond to make my kiddo feel comfortable and safe. If you are heading to urgent care with a kid I highly recommend checking if Ricardo is working - he’s a dad and it really makes a big difference in your kid’s experience when they feel heard and cared for.

The facilities are clean and well maintained, and the reception staff have always been helpful. Unfortunately, my experiences with the doctors and nurses have been consistently negative. We’ve visited Cottage Urgent Care three times in the past six months. Each time, the wait to be seen was over two hours. On two visits, after waiting, we were told they couldn’t help due to limited resources and were directed to the ER instead (for an infant urine sample and an infant stool sample). On another visit, I was given incorrect and outdated guidance on how to treat mastitis. I also felt I had to strongly advocate for my daughter. One nurse we saw twice documented symptoms we never mentioned and reasons for our visit that were inaccurate, even after we corrected her. It came across as an attemp
