I had an emergency appendectomy today (christmas). I cannot say enough good things about the medical team that I had. As someone who works in a critical access hosptial myself, to see another hosptial from a patient perspective put in such amazing effort for me today was truly wonderful. They really made a terrible situation much better I say writing from the comfort of my house post discharge on the same day.
These so called nurses and doctors are so disrespectful that they came at my fiance sideways when he was trying to explain something to them. My friend came in for psych and he texted his friend and stated that he wanted to leave cause they were taking advantage of him and his disability and was trapping him there and forcing him to stay against his own will until our friend got called in by the doctor and than they decided to gwt paperwork together for him to be discharged. The nurses and doctors suck here and I would never bring anyone in my family or friends here until the nurses and doctors can act like professionals and not take advantage of patients when they have a well known disability
I am new to the area and recently found myself in extreme pain, which brought me to Cottage Hospital. Walking into a new hospital when you don’t know anyone can be overwhelming, but from the very first moment I arrived, I was treated with nothing but kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. Every single person I came in contact with—from the doctors and nurses to the LPNs, techs, housekeepers, and especially my surgeon—played a role in making me feel seen, cared for, and safe. It wasn’t just the medical treatment, though that was outstanding; it was the way people spoke to me, the patience they showed, and the reassurance they gave me when I was scared and in pain. To my surprise and relief, I was not only quickly diagnosed but was also in surgery within 16 hours of being admitted. Tha
I spent a week at Ray of Hope and all I can say is, "One Flew Over The Cukoo's Nest". To say that it was a nightmare is being generous. I was treated like an inmate. They should be ashamed!
I'm going to keep my review professional as there is plenty negative I can say about this place, but there is a reason that this hospital is known to locals as "the band-aid station". They'll barely patch you up and then ship you out so someone else can deal with it. I'll leave the review at 3 stars because they took good care of me after my accident, but if I had a choice in hospitals after that it would not have been here. Also, DO NOT go here if you have ANY history of addiction or alcoholism or MH issues, they will judge and stigmatize you right out the door, which is the main reason I do not like this place..If you're going to the hospital for those issues do yourself a favor and (if you're able to) drive yourself to DHMC or LRH, you'll be treated SO MUCH better.
