Costco Pharmacy

I've never had the experience of refilling a prescription for my dog go so wrong and honestly could've done without it. I called Thurs and spoke with someone to check if the script was received and ready for pickup. She tells me they received it but put it on hold until I came in to fill out a new patient form even though I'm already in their system with two other pets. I explained that I would not have time to sit there and bounce between stations when I came in and asked if she could just take the information over the phone which she did. Great - problem solved. Called Fri morning again to check if script was filled. Nope, still not done because they needed to confirm if I wanted tablets or chewables...why did she not ask me the night before? Scips are always ready when I get there since the notifications pop up on my phone in advance. Plus it's less money than at many other pharmacies I've been to.

Waiting another 6 minutes because apparently there are other membership options to get in at the time Google shows. I’m literally seeing people turn around and leave.

Pros: price, manufacturers of generic medications are consistent and maybe location Cons: Pharmacy is run pretty poorly. Staff implements different policies seemingly haphazardly, insurance info mysteriously disappears or is not used on certain scripts at least a couple times a year. Also, they take a bizarrely long time to fill scripts. Like 24 hours for new scripts and if you show up and wait you can expect that to take an hour. Overall, if cost is your overall biggest concern and you do not want to shop meds constantly Costco is a good solution. If a well run pharmacy where people know who you are and are timely... well not so much.

I have had a very positive experience at this Costco and the one in Dallas Ga. If your meds are not in stock you can get them the next day in most cases. I have never had a bad experience or had them get my order wrong. That has happened to me so often at other major pharmacies that I can’t imagine going anywhere else. I think I have been using Costco pharmacy for two years if not more. I would give them 10 stars if permitted.
