went to the ER last night after urgent care advised me to go due to ongoing chest pain I’ve been experiencing on and off for the past two weeks. Urgent care specifically mentioned that the ER could run more advanced testing — including a CT scan — to check for possible inflammation around the heart. Unfortunately, my experience at the ER was disappointing and frustrating overall. The initial intake process was okay and the wait time was short — I was brought back within about 5–10 minutes. The first nurse who took my vitals, Ammar, was polite enough, but he seemed overly focused on less relevant details — like repeatedly questioning why I haven’t had a menstrual cycle since September, which is not unusual for someone who is almost 48 years old. Dr. Patel came in and I explained my sympto

At some point common sense has to start. How is it that people are expected to heal, with brain injuries when the patient next to you constantly has a tv BLASTING? Has anyone ever thought of the airline setup? A headset? Try spending money where it should go. The rooms are way too small for doubled up patients. Absolutely filthy rooms. Clearly all that money was for the outside glitz. No public bathrooms within walking distance from certain areas, clearly was told that “there’s no money in having bathrooms.” Rooms are constantly loud, way too hot, and overcrowded. When a room is so small there’s only room for folding chairs? Why bother! The nurses work like animals, but the rooms are trash.

My mother was admitted to Saint Barnabas after a severe stroke that left her paralyzed from the neck down. She also had stage IV cancer and a limb alert bracelet indicating extreme limb sensitivity. I was present daily and personally witnessed her care. A nurse handled her legs roughly and dropped one without acknowledgment. Another refused to reposition her and told her to “do it yourself,” despite her being fully paralyzed. Her call bell often went unanswered, and there were times she was left in urine and feces for hours. Basic hygiene, including oral care, was only provided during the day shift. When she struggled to breathe and was in visible distress, PRN medication was requested. There were delays of several hours before it was administered, and the nurse assigned to her had to re

Posting on behalf of my son Brian Dixon, who is autistic and delayed. My son was admitted to 4 west for Seizure monitoring after my son Brian experienced numerous back to back seizures while at home. From the moment we arrived on the unit, the care team of 4 west went above and beyond for us. The rooms are beautiful like a 5 star hotel. The nurse who admitted my son Brian was outstanding… her name was Jan. She was so empathetic and kind to us, and made sure we had everything that we needed. She was so kind to my son and always ensuring she was talking to him directly, as many people think that they need to talk to me because he is delayed and autistic. Other nurses we had were Eloida, who is so kind and always put a smile on mine and Brian’s faces, Melissa, who’s enthusiasm for her job was

I can’t say enough good things about the Labor & Delivery and postpartum team at Cooperman Barnabas. They delivered my son, and the care I received was truly above and beyond. I had complications, and every step of the way the nurses were supportive, calm, and incredibly reassuring. They explained things clearly, checked on me constantly, and gave me so much confidence during a really intense time. Even after delivery, during postpartum, the care never skipped a beat. The nurses continued to be attentive, kind, and patient, making sure both my baby and I were doing well and comfortable. Special shout-out to RNs Diahann and Anibela. They were amazing, compassionate, and made me feel safe and cared for when I needed it most. I’m so grateful for this team and will always remember how well t
