I was honestly nervous coming to the outpatient lab at Cook Children’s in Prosper, especially after reading some of the reviews and having to drive about 45 minutes to get there. Our son sees several specialists here, but this was our first time doing bloodwork at this location. We’ve had a really traumatic experience with a previous pediatrician’s office—multiple failed attempts to find a vein, both arms poked, and 15 minutes of tears before they gave up. So, understandably, we were anxious. But our experience here was completely different in the best way. We walked in on a Friday afternoon and were seen within 10 minutes. The two nurses were incredibly kind, gentle, and patient. They even sang along with me to help keep my son calm. The actual blood draw was quick and smooth—done in a
I like the doctors here and how well kept the new facility is here but… something’s done here don’t make sense like how each entrance doesn’t have equal amounts of handicap spots or why you have to check in twice every time you come in to see a doctor it just makes for double the amount of work every time for patients and family! Why the curbs near the entrances aren’t painted like most facilities so people don’t fall off the curb or know where it is when pulling up.
Our experience with Outpatient lab for my toddler was tormenting. With such a brand name of Cook’s Children, their outpatient lab nurses are worst to work with. Two of them could not find baby’s veins for 15 mins and kept on pricking needles here there and everywhere. My little one had been crying for the whole duration and they couldn’t finish a sample collection even after making us suffer for 30 mins. It seems like our little one was Guinea pig practice for these big hospital lab nurses. It was the most horrible experience in a decade even after paying for such a premium medical service.
We drove 45 min each way to this clinic with the hopes that our 4 year old would have a better blood draw experience than his previous one which was at a non-pediatric clinic. Our experience at Cooks did not disappoint. The check in process was fast and we waited maybe 5 min in the hallway before we were called back. They offered my son comfort, understanding, cold spray, and the buzzy bee for distraction. The phlebotomist spent time making sure she could find a good vein before sticking him with the needle. Another staff member came in with positive and fun energy to distract my son. He was allowed to sit on my lap and it went great. The last time he had his blood drawn (at the non Cook Children's facility) he was screaming and had to be held down. It was very traumatic for us all. At thi
It was a harrowing experience for my baby girl. She’s only 14 months old; we went here for giving couple of blood samples of my daughter for basic checkups. The lab nurses were naive. They drew samples very roughly and after pricking baby’s hands and arms for 30 mins; they could take only one sample. I mean what kind of crappy service and experience are we receiving at the facility?? Is this the so called “the premium service” that they always talk about ?? 🙄🙄😡😡👎👎👎👎👎👎
