Cook Children's Emergency Department (Prosper)

I am extremely disappointed with the care (or lack of care) we received at this emergency room. I brought in my 2-year-old who was showing signs of severe dehydration, including extreme lethargy and dark circles around her eyes. As a parent, this was very frightening and clearly an urgent situation. Despite explaining her condition and age, we were left waiting for over an hour without anyone checking on her, reassessing her condition, or showing any sense of urgency. No updates, no monitoring, and no concern for a toddler in distress. Her condition continued to worry me, and I ultimately felt it was unsafe to stay any longer. Dr. Meena Guirguis took excellent care of my son, Lukas. He was kind, patient, and took the time to explain everything clearly. He made us feel comfortable and truly cared about my son’s well-being. I want to share how incredibly grateful we are for the entire Cook Childrens Prosper Emergency Room team. We have been here more times than I can count for chronic constipation flares, wound care needs, kidney concerns, dehydration, and everything in between. Every visit usually starts with our PCP sending us in, and although Logan does not have the most enjoyable attitude in medical situations (and who could blame him) the ER team meets him with nothing but grace, patience, and comfort every single time. There are so many faces we have seen and I wish I remembered each name, but what stands out is how consistent this team is. Whether they are holding my son steady so an IV can be placed, helping with an NG tube, keeping him calm through vomiting and pain, or trying to soothe him when he

I seriously don't know how this place doesnt have closer to 5 stars. They have taken such good care of my baby girl. They are all so kind here. I wouldn't bring my kids anywhere else other than cooks.

I want to thank Dr. Andrew Boulos, the emergency room nurses and respiratory therapists for their kindness and exceptional care. They made a stressful situation much easier with their compassion and professionalism. I truly appreciate everything they did for my 1 yr young daughter.
