I have been going to Modern Dentistry of Novato for many years. In all these years I never had any billing issues with this office. I always had and still having current dental insurance, which covers my dental cleaning bills. Since the ownership of the Modern Dentistry of Novato has changed, I started to receive bills for services I never received or already covered by my dental insurance. Dr. Contreras "adjusted" bills back from 2022 up $399, filed for additional X-rays charge of $112, “Periodic Oral Evaluation “ $115, “Prophylaxis – Adult “ $190. None of these charges are real, never mentioned or discussed. I ended up with $504 bill. I feel very stressed out about these unfair charges and filed complaint with Dental Board. My daughter and i have been using this office for about three years now. I love the care! My teeth are doing great, and so are my kids. I like how the person working on my teeth explains what is happening and I like how my teeth feel after each visit. Great friendly staff too!
