Community Howard Regional Health

Grant’s wife here…Rebecca. I had experienced excruciating chest pain while having dinner in Kokomo. Called 911. Kokomo fire dept and ambulance service were great. Howard Community ER provided excellent care as well. I was able to go home pain free, and I had answers as well to possible cause. Very thankful for care provided! Doctor and nurses, and other staff members , were professional, smart, compassionate, and tolerant ….especially when I felt so anxious with this pain. I send a big Thank You to all that helped me last night!

When I arrived at this so called” HOSPITAL”, for an X-ray ! I walked through their metal detector machine in their emergency room and was summoned by a very unfriendly, rude gentleman sitting behind the desk he ordered me to put my keys away asked me if I had any guns and knives, hence I had just walked through a metal detector! I was treated by this rude person like an unruly child! One would have assumed that metal detector would have detected if I had any guns and knives, but instead he so rudely had to ask so I answered! I remained calm and polite the entire interaction, which was poor at best, these people have the bedside manner of a pit viper . This is supposed to be a hospital. I went to the ER at like 4 in the morning and i did not leave satisfied with answers as to what was wrong with me. i went in for abnormal bleeding from the uterus and i almost passed out at home. i feel like since i wasn't actively bleeding as i arrived i wasn't a priority and that they didn't do any further testing other than the basic panels and pregnancy tests and a IV. the ER dr told me that usually with problems like that the OBGYN generally gives birth control to control it and prescribed me aleeve, then discharged me. i went in scared because this has never happened to me. i gave 2 stars because the nurses were nice and helpful.

We had the BEST care when my husband was there! Everyone that we came in contact with was very caring, Shelby in ICU, Roxie on the 3rd floor, Brooke on the 2nd floor, (and multiple other nurses) Shirley the NP in ICU, and the Dr's that cared for him were ALL amazing! Thank you Thank you Thank you for being such a great hospital! Lori D

AVOID AVOID AVOID. I’ve been dealing with community off an on for stomach and back issues for almost 20 years. Zero progress or improvement for any of my issues EVER. If you want medical professionals that want to help you instead of skate by a patronize you, don’t go to community health for ANYTHING. Most arrogant and rude medical staff I’ve ever experienced and it’s consistent year after year experience after experience. Just flat out bad people enabled by a company that allows them to behave as if they’re doing their patients a favor instead of providing them a service. 0/10 patient service from top to bottom, nurses to specialists! I’ll now be waiting 3 months to start care with a private practice doctor, but 3 months of waiting is better then 20 years of negligent health care services
