If your elderly mother falls out of bed, gets hospitalized and needs to recover somewhere for six weeks, this place is it! Incredibly loving, kind, positive, friendly staff here who actually care. It’s clean, the staff are prompt and efficient with incontinence wear changes, regular showering of residents, meal delivery and removal or wheeling them to the dining room, and sharp as tacks with meds and regular med evaluations. They pop in all the time to get eyes on and check to see if a resident needs anything. Also, the physical therapy and occupational therapy departments were amazing. They really know what they’re doing and how to positively, kindly and patiently deal with someone who’s a little lost about how and why she ended up there, why getting strong again is so crucial. I am currently in care here. While it took the staff getting to know me to treat me well, for the most part, after six weeks here, the care is what I would expect from an acute rehab. The food could use some work, the wait time getting on and off bedpans, OT could use some work on making sure they see me as often as they are supposed to, giving showers as often as they are supposed to, and someone explaining how things should work upon arrival are the things that could use some work. The main problem is a large patient to small number of staff ratio. On the other hand, most CNA's are hardworking and try to help residents as well as they can, for the most part. Weekends are different as they often have CNA's who are inexperienced at Colonial Vista. The nurses are kind and especially hardwor

My mom is due to Be releases soon after broke hip and spiked dementia . The PT was excellent. Nurses kind. The only frustrations was the wait when we pushed the button to have mom taken to Bathroom or put back in bed. We were told not to help her. The front staff was awesome and the ladies in the cafeteria were excellent. I remember one name -Denise— outstanding and the head of that cafeteria, a young black haired woman was so kind . One other major thing: the facility did not have a urine odor!!!!’ Thank you Colonial Vista Acute PS When I visited I was able right on premises to get my mom’s nails and hair done!

My grandfather is at colonial vista now for rehab and at first I was nervous about putting him there but Matthew Hammonds talked with my family and assured us the best care possible. The nurse Dotty that looks over him on her shifts is so amazing and truly cares about my grandfathers needs and the family’s needs! She is amazing and I’m so thankful for her. Jesus that helps with my grandfathers needs with therapy is honestly awesome he tells my grandfather how it is and coming from a military family I love that! He pushes my grandfather everyday to get better and the first time I saw him working with him I was so happy because not only did Matt make me a promise of taking care of him Matt and his team are fulfilling the promise everyday! I’m truly thankful for everything these 3 individuals

I did rehab for my knee replacement. Did rehab 2 years ago far different this time. Pts do not enter the water. They sit on a chair telling you what to do. Appointments should be 45 minutes mine were usualy 35 minutes. I was unable to confirm if my pt was a pt or just an aid. Pt was often on his phone. My assessment did not include measuring where my knee bend was to compare as i progresses. Stop going as i felt like i could just walk and get tge same benefit. The chlorine is strong even after washing my suits still smelled like clorine. Bring your own towels thres are raggedy and see through. Do not recommend.
