CMC Women's Health - Towne Center

Very disappointed in the lack of communication. I have been trying to find an obgyn in South Carolina for months. I called the CMC Myrtle beach location, and was scheduled a month and a half out for a PRENATAL appointment. For reference, confirmed by another clinic, I am about fourteen weeks. Meaning I definitely need to get seen SOON to make sure me and the baby are both healthy. Not only did they change my location of where I was to be seen, but they scheduled me with a nurse practitioner. Not an ob like promised. All they did was take a pap smear. They didn't check for my baby's heartbeat, and only did a pee pregnancy test and sent me on my way. I asked for yeast infection medication, and she told me just to go get over the counter meds. How ridiculous. It wasn't a prenatal appointment.

Horrible experience. I’ve never had an obgyn that does not return a phone call of a potential pregnancy complication. I have never seen anything like this. Clearly there is also zero professional courtesy either…. If they can not staff their clinic with nurses that can answer the phone during work hours nor have any answering service they absolutely should not be offering obstetrical care!! CMC should be disappointed. Patients should not have to go to an emergency department for something that should be handled in the outpatient setting.

Dr. Alo is by far the best doctor I have EVER had the pleasure of seeing. She went out of her way to be there for the delivery of my son after I told her of a previous bad experience with another doctor. She always listens to all my concerns and just truly made me feel at ease. She is very thorough. You really cares about the birth experience and made mine wonderful. You do have to wait a bit when you go see her but don't worry she will devote just as much time to you when she is with you and is 100% worth any wait time.

I love this office and have been a patient here for 5 years. Dr. Thompson and Dr. Alo are amazing. They are both caring, patient, and thorough. I never leave the office without knowing exactly what's going on or what needs to happen next. I've only had to wait more than 30 minutes to see him on two occasions due to mothers delivering their babies which happens sometimes. So I could understand if he's running behind schedule. His nurse Karen and his staff is very Prompt of notifying you if he's going to be late and making sure you're comfortable. A lot of these other reviews have nothing to do with the OBGYN office they have to do with the family medicine office. I had Lacey Eanes. My experience was so horrible that I will never go back! I had a pap done by her and she promised to follow up with my results, and I never got a call. When I came back because I was scheduled for a ultrasound to see if I had any ovarian cist they didn’t schedule me correctly. So I couldn’t be seen. I was told the ultrasound lady was too busy that day and had a bunch of pregnant women in the lobby for the day, and that they were more important. Which is an insult because she knew I was trying for years to get pregnant with my husband, and that was the ultimate reason why I came to her. She herself is pregnant, so I guess she doesn’t have to worry about things like that. Also on that same day the nurse that took me back said someone dropped my pap and that it had be done
