Clinch Valley Medical Center

When I retired I moved from Syracuse New York to Richlands Virginia. I have lived here 8 years and until recently was not in need of a physician or pharmacy. Due to the onset of arthritis I now needed medical care. I was seen by Dr Faisal Chaudhry who ordered multiple X-rays to be taken at Clinch Valley Medical Center. I went to the hospital late in the afternoon, registered, and sent to the radiology department. The registration was simple, the registration rep was very nice and it took no time to register. I also had a very short wait to see a radiologist. The X-ray tech understood I was in a great deal of pain and he helped position me for the various X-rays needed. Overall really great experience with all of the staff. The food surprisingly good for hospital food. My only complaint is the quality of postpartum items provided. The standard size maxi-pads and mesh underwear were underwhelming. Definitely need to rethink suitability of said items and provide something more absorbent and durable for new moms. i.e overnight pads or even adult diapers. Nurses were kind enough to make cooling pads, but maybe consider adding cooling packs to the standard order.

I have to give the labor and delivery team 5 stars! Truly, every single nurse we had during our stay was wonderful. We knew everyone by name by the time we left and felt that we were cared for excellently.

I recently had the pleasure of communicating with a medical social worker at this facility by the name of Nicki Allison regarding a patient. She was very helpful and expeditious in completing a complex task and she also called back to confirm that we received the documents and that they were correct. Kudos to Mrs. Allison for a job well done!

Everyone in every department I've been involved with has been so kind. I can ask anyone for help and be treated warmly. All the care I've gotten during visits and procedures has been amazing, top-tier bedside manners. Even when I've been lost, late to my appointment trying to figure out which building or room to go, I have been helped and seen by everyone in my path, and my appointments go smoothly. I've been working with Clayton Morgan specifically, and he has been terrific. I am a young person with complicated symptoms, and he really tries to get to the bottom of my health without leaving me with questions. He is very knowledgeable in his work. This is an invaluable level of care that I would recommend to anyone, near or far.
