CityMD Greenpoint Urgent Care - Brooklyn

Very frustrating experience with CityMD. I went in for a severe cough and was told it was “just a cold.” The next day my test results came back showing I actually had RSV. The doctor prescribed cough medicine, but when I went to CVS they didn’t have the full quantity available, so I had to take a smaller amount and ran out after only a few days while I’m still clearly sick. When I contacted CityMD to request a refill, they refused and told me I would have to come back in for another visit. That means billing my insurance another $300 just to refill a medication I should have been able to request—especially since I didn’t even receive the full amount from the pharmacy in the first place. They claimed they would “escalate” my request, but within five minutes I received a call back saying

I should've asked the doctor to repeat what exam he was offering. I'm not English native speaker and went to see a doctor for a symptom I experienced before. I didn't completely understand medical term he was using. Now I got a $300 bill, where insurance only covers $20. I never got charged that much when I visited City MD before, so I got buffled... Don't be shy to ask whatever you don't understand, otherwise you'll waste your money...

All of the staff was very kind. I was on day 12 of not feeling well and had left 2 other urgent care visits in the last week with no answers as to why I was feeling so poorly (different from this location). The nurse that did all the Covid, flu, strep, and mono tests on me was very gentle despite how uncomfortable these tests can be. Once my tests revealed I had mono, Dr Medero was very thorough in explaining the virus to me and all the proper care I should be taking as I continue to let it run its course.

Baffling. I’m immunocompromised and went to check for symptoms of suspected flu/strep/covid/bacterial infection, and so I wear a mask. The NP I saw was not wearing a mask and when I asked him to please put one on for my oral exam, he said “why? I’m not sick?”….i wanted to scream. He JUST told me that lots of people were coming in with flu and viruses, and he thinks a) he’s immune….b) that it’s okay to put others at risk…c) he doesn’t know the fact that he could be asymptomatic while infectious. As a previously healthy young person. - a mild Covid infection has literally disabled me, and after telling him I was immunocompromised, he questioned why I wanted him to wear a mask?? After reminding him twice that I was immunocompromised, He finally put on an ill fitting surgical mask, which is

staff are kind. the doctors are wise. and definitely check that your insurance covers costs here! or else you might have to pay for their top-notch services out-of-pocket. ended up being pretty cheap for all that they provided me.
