CityMD Crown Heights Urgent Care - Brooklyn

This is the second time I've come here. The first being a year ago I had an ear infection, now for a UTI. The reception/nurses were very nice and accommodating. The doctor, however.....my god please replace him. A year ago he straight up told me I didn't have an ear infection, but prescribed me meds for it anyways....? I went to my primary, low and behold: I had an ear infection. Fast forward to today, I woke up with basic UTI symptoms so I decided to go to the closest urgent care. I was waiting so long in the exam room that I fell asleep. The doctor finally comes in after an hour and a half. Its the same guy as last time. I told him my symptoms, especially flank pain. He told me "we don't do CT scans here. You don't have a UTI, you probably have kidney stones." I replied by saying oh well

Usually I come in and Dr. Smith is able to help, but this time he seemed agitated that I was there. Given that my primary care is in Sunset and I have a hip disability, I only go to this location when it's not a serious issue. I came in with a tooth abscess, now confirmed by the ER as a periodontal abscess below the gum. I expected more compassion from Dr. Smith. I brought in an empty prescription for Tramadol and a full prescription for Oxycodone APAP Acetaminophen, and I explained that I did not want to take the Oxycodone. Instead of simply saying they don't prescribe Tramadol at CityMD, he treated me in a way that felt rooted in his own bias about opioid use. All it would have taken was a kind explanation, not tossing a bottle aside as if I were begging for drugs. As I left, he joked an

I came on a Sunday morning. There was no wait. The receptionist at the front was full of energy. The medical assistant and physician are great at patient care. I was in and out.

My wife came in for a woman’s issue and was treated with nothing but contempt and disrespect (by a male doctor). The interaction sounded wildly condescending and rude, especially for such a sensitive matter. She waited two hours to be seen and when the doctor finally arrived, he talked over her and was incredibly dismissive. City MD has many half-decent locations but certainly not this one!

Barbie & I rushed over to this CMD arriving at 9:10am. Front desk greeted us upon entrance. The staff is very diverse & seemed friendly. I was the 3rd person in but by the time I left (10am) there were about 10-12 ppl in the waiting area. They do not accept all insurance so please call & ask before you troop it over. COVID-19 tests are now $225 without insurance. Disrespectful. I have Cigna so I paid a $25 co pay. The nurse gave me a discharge note for my employer which was nice. It’s Thursday April 7th 2022- we are still basically still battling this pandemic. Some days this place will be a hot mess when numbers are high. Other days, it’ll have the best service probably when numbers are low. Grateful nonetheless to have this facility in my community. We need more! Overall- Barbie was plea
