CityMD Amboy Road Urgent Care - Staten Island

Mixed experience at CityMD Amboy Road. The facility is clean and the staff are generally pleasant, but the wait times can be really excessive even when the place doesn't appear that busy. The medical care itself was adequate and the doctors were thorough once you finally got seen. For a urgent care the whole process felt slower than it should. Fine for non-emergency situations but be prepared to wait.

This CityMD location is very clean, and they serve people quickly; without rushing. Their doctors are also good enough. However just like most other private healthcare companies, your bill will be high (around $300!), unless you have reliable insurance coverage. Even then, you'll still be charged a $75 copay.

I would never go back to this place. My Wife was not feeling Well sore throat and had cough. Saw a Doctor never even looked into her ear said it was Viral gave no RX Cost $75 for Visit now two weeks and still sick. I say Misdiagnosed the doctor gave her something.

I was given an antibiotic upon my first visit, that cost a $100 copay. When I came back a week later with an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. They wouldn’t see me unless I paid a copay of the same amount instead of at least consulting me on a solution.

There are doctors and then there are true healthcare professionals who truly care for your individual healthcare needs. And initially I went there because my regular doctor was on vacation. So I decided to give CityMD a try. Having said that, I was really surprised! They treated me like I was VIP! Unfortunately, I found out that I was positive for Covid, (I am teacher, sickness comes with the job) but they treated me with respect, they answered all of my questions and at that time, I had also brought my mom, and even though she tested negative at the time, my doctor prescribed her the same Covid medication as a prophylaxis to prevent Covid from making her sick too since we live in the same house.
