CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center - Marshall

During my recent stay at Christus Good Shepherd, including my time in the Emergency Room, I experienced exceptional care and compassion from every member of the team. From the moment I arrived, the staff demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and genuine concern for my well-being. The medical team provided clear explanations, prompt attention, and thorough treatment that exceeded my expectations. The nurses, doctors, and support staff all worked together seamlessly, creating a reassuring and comfortable environment during a difficult time. I am deeply grateful for their outstanding service and dedication to patient care.

I wanted to give a 5 star review but two of the nurses were short with me and not caring. It was the night of Thursday, November 13. Second shift. I don’t know the name of the intercom nurse but Nat was the respiratory nurse. Also, the buzzer of the IV bas when they are empty are enough to make you run out of the room being crazy. The buzzers go on to long and nurses don’t always hear them go off. When you sick, those buzzers can give you a headache or make you want nerve pills. VERY VERY AGRIVATING AND ANNOYING. SHUT THEM OFF AND DONT USE THEM. The nurse can not hear them when they are on the far side of the ward away from you. I wanted to take the IV Bags and throw it across the room.

Families been in Marshall for over 140+ years. I can’t say I’ll be bringing myself or my family to this Hospital any further. I was given a good faith estimate for $618.54 upon arriving. Paid it in full upon leaving and was told by their receptionist this will be the entirety of my cost for the two hour visit. Was also told my medication was included in the cost. Went to pick it up, cost me another $200.00. Two weeks after leaving I received a bill in the Mail for $885.00 from the hospital. I had to come down and dispute with Barbara, being told I was wrong about it not being correct for the first 20 minutes. Then after a 20 minute debate, she looked up the bill and kindly admitted there was a coding error that made a false statement, an 885.00 bill that should not have been generated. Sad

I had blood work done this morning. Literally 3 minutes from the time I got in and it was done. Lawanda did my procedure pain free. Never felt a stick! Very pleased and satisfied.

By far the worst er hospital I’ve ever been to, nurse Brittany you were the smile through my pain. Er dr (walker I think) and some dude with short hair….yall should be ashamed of yourself to be called a so called dr. Major lack of desire to care and will just slide in to tell you basically to go home after running one test and blame it on something totally off the wall. No wonder barely anyone in Marshall trusts this hospital, I’d be very scared to come here in a bleeding out emergency. GO TO LONGVIEW IF YOU CAN
